As probably everyone here knows, the Saturn release of Virtua Fighter is not the most arcade perfect port of that game. In fact several reviews claim it to be inferior to the 32x port,
Owning a PAL version of that game I really did not understant some of these statements . Yes, there were some minor bugs, but the gameplay and framerate were ok enough for me to enjoy the game. But today I was looking at some footage from the American NTSC version over Youtube, and I realise why so many people have been criticizing this version. Part of the stage kept disappearing, and general bugs and flickering graphics seemed much more noticeable (plus, people also complain about the frame rate).
So I was wondering, probably the PAL version had some of the major bugs corrected before being released. Does anyone know were I can find information about this?

I think what people mean is the 32X version was less of a rushed port.
Less of a rush port, but sadly still not as good a port...
It had less bugs, and utilised the 32X to a greater extent than the Saturn port pushed the Saturn.
Sadly the truth still stands that the 32X version is the ugliest and worst sounding version of the game, extra costumes and bug-issues aside.

Going off of that video it would appear that disappearing floor is still in the PAL version, though the frame rate does seem smoother than what I've seen of the NTSC version. Are you sure you are not thinking of Remix?

I was talking about the original Virtua Fighter. I also own a copy of Virtua Fighter Remix.
After watching this video, and since it was taken from a PAL version, I decided to run my copy of the game, and noticed that it really happen, the floor keeps disappearing. Funny that although I've played this game a lot recently, I never noticed that. Apart from that, the frame rate and gameplay seem ok. I can really find this game enjoyable, so they probably correct the frame rate issue before releasing it in Europe.

It might have been corrected by accident, the American version is renering at 30FPS and the European version is running at 25FPS, the missing 5 frames per second might have been enough time to allow the console to produce a consistantly smooth frame rate over the original version.
The same thing happened with Fighter's Megamix (NTSC version slowsdown more than PAL).
