Someone on ebay has listed tons of service manuals for just about every Sega system. One of the ones included is the Sega Saturn manual. Over at Sega-16 people are talking about raising funds to buy as many of them as possible so they can be scanned and made available to everyone for mod and repair purposes. I was thinking we could possibly look into at least getting the Saturn one here as that would take some burden off of the people at Sega-16 allowing them to focus on getting the Genesis, CD, and 32X ones. Right now the Saturn one is listed at $69.95 AUD and no one has bid on it: www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sega-Saturn-Service-Manual-Extremely-Rare-L-K-/181058596921So, what do you guys think here? Should we all pitch in and try to win this? There could be some valuable information in there, such as possibly fixing the Cartridge port, or enough info to find replacements or even get new parts made. At the very least it could make troubleshooting broken Saturns much easier.

Sounds a good idea. Maybe have it scanned and added to this site for everybody to view.
Id pitch in.

If Zyrobs thinks it will be useful I will chip in a tenner.

If Zyrobs thinks it will be useful I will chip in a tenner. Those documents (not just the saturn ones but all of them) are nothing short of the holy grail of what I'd need for a project I'm collecting info for. I've been working on reverse engineering all the info that these manuals readily provide. Sadly I can't buy them - I'm sick at the moment, which means no work, and no money. And even if I had money, I'm too much in debt to consider buying stuff for myself. As far as I know, retro has a bunch of these docs but he's a hoarder and won't scan them.

So, basically is there anybody interested and if so, are we all ok with scanning them to the site for all to see (as long as Mick is ok with it)?

That's basically me asking Mick if there's any issues with it being added to the site as it's his site

Shit I'll add them to my own site as long as someone manages to scan them!

Hello guys
I am setting up fund raisers for these. Has anyone here started to place a bid on these as I have noticed that bidding has started on the Saturn manual. If someone has I will not start up a fund raiser for this, as I am sure whoever wins it from here will share it.
I live in Australia (same as the seller) and have access to A3 scanners. I have started threads on Sega-16 and shared in the thread on SMSPower.
It would be fantastic to get these and share them on line.
Cheers Pete

So far, unfortunately it looks like only a couple of us would contribute, which I dont think would win any bids .

Done. I've already contributed half of the required total to ensure that the Saturn service manual gets distributed to the community that deserves it the most - the end user fans!! Let's win this and get it out to the masses.
