Hey guys!
So I've encountered a problem.
Had the AV port replaced on my Saturn - everything on the motherboard seems fine.
When I attempt to power it on, the LED comes on and power goes to the CD drive, but then the system turns off as soon as I lift my finger off the button (I did try holding it in, this didn't work).
I haven't used my Saturn in a while and can't remember: is the power switch captive? Or is it supposed to function like a typical PC power button?
Thanks guys,
HS

I've only ever owned a model 1 pal Saturn, but mine is meant to be "captive". It stays in when pressed

The problem was indeed the switch - it looks like there's a tiny piece of plastic that perished and snapped off. Luckily it's not horrifically difficult to source the parts, since a Dreamcast switch uses the exact same type of connection and switch. The Dreamcast power switch wiring isn't as long as it needs to be for the Saturn, but it's a good temporary solution while you look for a new part.
