Hello everyone! I came to this site again after some years and discovered I had created an account long ago. Anyway, I'm a very late newcomer to the Saturn platform only picking one up back in 2010, I think. I had never played on one in all that time except once. Around 2000 I was over at a friends house where they were having a video game bonanza/get-together. The new PS2 was hooked up to the big screen, a Dreamcast was hooked up to a small tube in the foyer and finally a Saturn and NES were hooked up to yet another. Can't say I had any revelation (did for the Dreamcast) whilst playing the Saturn but I thought I'd mention it.
Fast-forward to the present and I've collected a few Saturns including a white JP one with a sizable amount of games both domestic (U.S.) and import. Out of my collection of consoles Sega consoles are special to me and out of the Sega consoles the Saturn is the most special. I love everything about it including it's fantastic model 2 controller, it's library of "hardcore" 2D games (fighters, shmups) and the ease at which you can play imports to greatly expand your library. In a more ephemeral way I guess I could say I also appreciate that the system did not sell very well, was and still is underappreciated particularly in the States and some of the best games were imports thus it really tickles me as a collector of the retro, if that makes sense.
My favorite games for the system that I own are (in no order):
Vampire Savior
Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter
Strikers 1945
Virtua Cop 2
Panzer Dragoon Zwei
Nights
