Hi all!
I recently got the urge to go into my loft and pull out my Saturn (received for Christmas 1995), load up some classics from my teenage years and hopefully expand my collection with games I missed out on at the time. But to my horror, I couldn't get it to read any discs!
I was really gutted, especially as it was region modded and had a 60hz switch installed. Had a few attempts at fixing it, even replacing the laser, but no luck. Cheap enough to buy a second hand one, but not knowing how to go about modding a Saturn these days I opted for a sexy white Japanese Saturn from eBay and to my surprise it came region modded with 50/60hz options!
So I'm all sorted now, digging into my collection of PAL and JPN games and having a great time. I really love the Saturn, was a staunch defender of it at the time, and would probably consider it my favourite console.

Thanks guys!
Yes good spot, Shining the Holy Ark is one of my favs, though I'm yet to locate my copy which is a bit concerning. I've found most of my games but there are a handful missing. Hopefully a more thorough search will turn them up, don't really want to have to buy them again.
Other favourite games would be pretty standard ones I guess:
Burning Rangers Radiant Silvergun (modded my original Saturn just to import this) Guardian Heroes Panzer Dragoon series
But a couple of random ones I love:
X-Men: COTA (played so much of this with friends, but never got round to the other Capcom fighters) Die Hard Trilogy (3 distinct games, all cool in their own right) True Pinball (don't remember how I ended up with this one, but got addicted to it)

I'm often surprised when people say they are addicted to a pinball video game. To me pinball video games never seemed appealing. Maybe I need to be more open minded and actually try one. As I know many Saturn members on here also love pinball games. Hope you managed to locate your copy of Shinning The Holy Ark in the end.

I'm not sure if True Pinball is even considered to be a good pinball game or not, but the high score chase with my brother fuelled the addiction. In isolation, it probably wouldn't hold your attention that long. Still haven't located my copy of STHA yet Actually made a list of game I know I own that are missing: Bubble Bobble / Rainbow Islands Die Hard Trilogy Earthworm Jim 2 Fighters Megamix Shining the Holy Ark Sonic R I'm hoping they are all just tucked away together in a box that I haven't searched thoroughly yet, though they all seem relatively cheap to replace with the exception of STHA.

Once you know what you are supposed to do in pinball it becomes far more entertaining. This is a good video showing Last Gladiators for Saturn and how to play it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKp0Kbu9YX8
