3 of arguably the best Saturn lightgun games. Which is it going to be: Virtua Cop, Virtua Cop 2 or House of the Dead? Pick one and comment below. VIRTUA COPVIRTUA COP 2HOUSE OF THE DEAD

I have and enjoy all three, but I think I'll have to pick VC1. It's simpler but better for it.

Virtua Cop 2 for me. Love all 3 but have been recently putting time into this one again.

House of the dead- never liked this on the Saturn, graphics are really poor, it's rough. Poor frame rate too, a stinker.
Virtual cop- great game, the second best gun game on the Saturn.
Virtua cop 2- massive improvement over the first game, graphics and gameplay wise. Loved this game and gets my vote. The best gun game on the Saturn.

I still love the first Virtua Cop more than its follow-up, but The House Of The Dead wins this poll for me... Sure, it's a rough (or should that be technically unfinished?) conversion, yet I go back to this more than both of AM2's visually superior light gun efforts. In a way, the "grittier" look actually works better with the whole b-movie aesthetic, plus I never get bored of literally shooting holes through enemies - at a time when zombies were experiencing something of a slump, it was games like HOTD and Resident Evil that rejuvenated my interest in the horror genre. To this day, these two games remain my absolute favourites of their kind, with Resident Evil 2, Zombie Revenge and The House Of The Dead 2 all close behind to round out my top five titles. Incredibly, all of these burst onto either the Saturn or Dreamcast within a few short months!

Sych twice with the hard polls this week! Gotta go VC2. Like Marc said the two made some large improvements on the first. I love HOTD but man that game is tough. That bat like boss eats my health.

Virtua Cop 2 just edges out VC1 by virtue of being everything VC1 did, but doing it bigger and better.

5 years ago I would've said Virtua Cop 2 as I still had a CRT and Lightguns. But nowadays I play VC2 with the Saturn Mouse as it's much better than a normal controller and I play House of The Dead with an Auto-Fire pad. Out of the two, House of The Dead is the better experience. But VC2 with the mouse is also great but I do prefer House of the Dead.

I like all three games a lot. Saturn HotD is a poor conversion though. I like VC1's scoring system more than VC2's, but VC2 has more interesting level design. I'd probably give it to VC2.

I'm torn on this one. Virtua Cop 1 & 2 are great and a huge step forward for the light gun genre, but I find them a bit vanilla and uninteresting today. It's personality kind of starts and ends with "light gun game", in the same way Virtua Fighter's entire personality is basically just "fighting game" with stereotypical characters that represent their fighting style as opposed to being distinct unique characters.
So I like House of the Dead a lot more, because with the hilariously awful dialogue and voice acting, as well as the stupidly over the top gore that's more hilarious than disturbing due to how cartoonish it is (coming from someone who is usually pretty squeamish with graphic violence), I find it a lot more entertaining. The only thing holding me back from saying it's the better game is, as others have said, the port. Virtua Cop 2 is a much more polished and technically impressive game on the Saturn, runs smoother, looks better, all of that. Also this is arguably a nitpick, but I was really disappointed that House of the Dead doesn't support the Saturn mouse like Virtua Cop 2 does, since that was such a fun way to play that game and an excellent workaround for playing the game on an HDTV. I've tried several times to get the mouse to work with my NTSC-J copy of House of the Dead and no luck.
So, Virtua Cop 2 is the best light gun game on the Saturn for sure. But personally I like House of the Dead a lot more and if we were going off the arcade versions of these games I'd be saying that House of the Dead is easily the best.

My vote goes for The House of The Dead, since last year i've also finished this with my fiancee. Great co op mode I prefer it over Virtua Cop series, because of the horror theme and superb Currien Mansion

I would go for House of the Dead - may not be technically better than VC1 & 2 but has a special place in my heart 😍

Looks like The House Of The Dead despite of its flaws has a potential to overcome technically great Virtua Cop series

no doubt for me this is between virtua cop 1 and 2. 2 is way better, has more interaction. however the music in 1 is simply epic. I really don't understand why they got rid of the awesome arcade music they had in virtua cop 1. still 2 is the best imo despite the music.
house of the dead I never got into it. on dreamcast I also much prefer confidential mission to house of the dead 2. zombies in general are way overrated.
