Whta's interesting about these 3 gems is they've often been mis-categorised. Nights isn't a platformer, Dragon Force isn't an RPG and Panzer Dragoon Zweii isn't a classic Shump but you often see them in these categories competing with games they shouldn't be.

This is an easy decision to make; 'Panzer Dragoon Zwei' is profoundly brilliant in a manner that few games can hope to compete with. The game is a monumental success that deftly evokes the feeling of going on a voyage like no other. I love how the evolution mechanic further informs the environment of growth and discovery this game seems so intent on building. It has a disarming quality that should persuade most.
It takes an incredible amount of discipline to tell a compelling story with minimal dialogue that relies mostly on contextual story telling. This is something many indie game developers are starting to realise (and consumers, too) which Zwei had an understanding of way ahead of the curve.
Nearly every aspect of this game warrants a barrage of unmitigated praise which gives it the edge over NiGHTS and Dragon Force.

I am starting to feel sorry for poor NiGHTS though. It contains many of the same minimal but massively affective storytelling techniques as Zwei.

Gosh that's difficult, as NiGHTS is my favourite Saturn game, with Panzer Dragoon Zwei in a close second. I guess what acts as a decider for me is the soundtrack (award going to NiGHTS). It's absolutely amazing. PDZ's OST, I believe, is far inferior to Panzer Dragoon. Then there's how NiGHTS focuses on dreams, which are an important part of my life. Finally, I feel NiGHTS is truly a game that is original in most every way. There just isn't anything like it. PDZ is a rail shooter, which, has been done.
At the end of the day though, I consider both games to be shining examples of how video games can truly be art. Both are absolutely stunning.

Have played more of nights. Plus the very fact that Christmas Nights exists.
So that gets my vote.

The three heavy Saturn exclusives are STILL on a 3 way tie. I was expecting a winner by this point.

I'm going with zwei, one of the best rail shooters ever, might have been the best if not for titles like sin and punishment 2.... a must have, and the best of the series imho.
I don't mind nights, it's a good game, but I seem to not be liking it as much as some.
Meh, dragon force, never been into it, have never owned it. it's one of those titles other people had in their collections that just didn't do it for me.

hard to choose, I suppose if i was backed into a corner and forced to choose, it would be Nights, although I would be the first to say I think its ever so slightly overrated (in so far as publications and "top 10" lists seem to claim its the best game on the system)
Panzer Zwei is a fantastic game too , if I remember correctly, I think it supports the mouse, though I could be wrong about that, I generally consider it better than the original , although Saga still wins in that series for me.
Dragon Force was quite fun too , not among my top picks for the system , but not bad.

Just made the poll more interesting by voting for Dragon Force.
I'm surprised so many voted for it tbh. The other two are much easier to get hold of and are more 'quintessential' Saturn games.

Dragon Force has always been incerdibly popular on here. I think the other two, especially with Nights it has a Marmite quality. You either love it or hate it. I think I also voted for Dragon Force as well.

It's arguably aged the best of those three.
Shame I haven't completed it, as my NTSC-US version doesn't work properly on PAL consoles.

Yeah, I don't want to mod. I might go down the flash cart route next year. Most of the remaining games on my bucket list are the expensive ones, and I have other financial priorities now. This would solve the Dragon Force issue too obvs.

I OPTED FOR PDZwei... Most likely my favourite Saturn game. Ever. I'm going with zwei, one of the best rail shooters ever, might have been the best if not for titles like sin and punishment 2.... a must have, and the best of the series imho.^ This. S&P2 is the best Wii game ever imo. The best Wii game, most people never played...

Panzer Dragoon Zwei got my vote. I wholeheartedly endorse River's post on the subject. It remains for me a defining title for the Saturn: cinematic, sombre, fully polygonal. And along with the first game in the series, it took a genre that had once been considered completely shallow and gave it new depth.
Dragon Force doesn't even make it into the running for me on this one. It's an impressive game in many ways, but the slow pace of the second act is just abominable and always makes me hesitate to replay the game (though I have nonetheless completed it with six of the eight kingdoms). You're just killing time for long stretches, interrupted by short tasks that only your main characters can complete, never mind that they're on the opposite side of the world at the time and your other troops have to sit and do nothing.
Nights into Dreams is way up there but I just don't feel compelled to revisit it as often as Panzer Dragoon Zwei.
