I've recently bought an HSS-0136 and I now want to replace the stick and buttons to a full Seimitsu setup; as it's the ASCI version.
The problem is, it's in immaculate condition and (except for the above) I want to keep it as original as possible. So, is there an easy and clean way to remove the art from the unit, so I can get to the screws underneath for the stick? Ideally keeping it in perfect condition so it can be glued back when I'm done.
Has anyone done this before that has any tips in general? I'm looking at replacing the stick with a Seimitsu LS-56 so I've got an octagonal plate (primarily for fighters) and the buttons with Seimitsu PS-15's.
I was considering trying a hairdryer to soften up the glue on the art, but I don't want to damage anything.
Thanks.

How would I go about getting that under the sticker itself?

From what I know of this stick it will be a long tedious job requiring elbow grease.

I just tore it off for mine. I was planning on making a replacement but the plan fell through when I realized that I find arcade sticks extremely uncomfortable (and more importantly that I can't play shit on them, except for Virtua Fighter where it does help).
On that note, I have a gutted hss-0136 with a full set of buttons and stick (both originals, as well as Seimitsu LS-56 and PS-15, and an octagonal gate). The main metal panel had the artwork scraped off and the key pegs for the buttons shaved off, so you can fit in the Seimitsu ones. I'm looking to get rid of them, in case you are interested.

Seimitsu LS-56 and PS-15, and an octagonal gate. I'm looking to get rid of them, in case you are interested. Potentially, what kind of price are you looking at for them? I take it they are all new and unused as you didn't manage to get them fitted? Also, what colour are the buttons?

I take it they are all new and unused as you didn't manage to get them fitted? Also, what colour are the buttons? They have something like 1 day usage at most, so practically nothing. There are three greens and two pink ones, and six ones with black ring and different inside colours each (red, green, blue, yellow, grey, black). I think. There's also a LS-56-01 (with blue ball) and an octagonal gate for it. If you are interested I'll take pics. I'd sell it at the exact same price I bought it for (looking at the invoice, it was 5325 yen). Do you want the remains of my HSS-0136 pad? if anything, you'd have a spare front plate with no artwork on it, plus there is the box for it.

It's a pity this stick isn't easily upgradeable. When I got mine the stick was very stiff but a few spots of 3-in-1 made it silky smooth so I'm happy with it for the time being.
I upgraded my Wii Tatsunoko controller buttons and it was super easy.

I did change the stick and buttons on my HSS-0136. I could not find a solution to remove the art, then putting it back in place properly.
So I just made tiny holes in the art where the screws underneath are (you can feel them as the art is a little loose there), proceeded to changes, then hid the holes with small black plastic thingies. Not perfect, but easiest I could find.

the hss 0136 is easy to mod from a technical point of view.. However the art removal is the main issue. If some one had the dimensions on file to make an art file in AI or PS,, one could easily replace the art with a high quality vinyl print... I'm actually considering measuring my sticks panel dimension and try to make a file for it,, so then people can use.. However I dont know how to go about that.
