I've only played wsb98 but from comparing the vids looks to be the better game absolutely no atmosphere in 3d baseball no crowd cheering or anything nearly fell asleep just watching it 😴

I'm surprised not many have played these games. Aren't they meant to be very popular in the US? Looks wise, WSB 98' looks the best imo.

world series baseball 98 is like the best baseball game ever made. even better than world series baseball 2. baseball just isn't popular at all in europe. I live in the netherlands and despite our country being pretty good, almost nobody cares either.

One of the few 3D sports games on the Saturn that could legit contend against the other consoles. And yeah Netherlands is one of those random countries outside of the traditional ones that is pretty decent at baseball. I wouldn't say they are pretty good. Nowhere near half the quality of the main nations but nice that the interest is there. Cricket has a further reach in most countries. A sport I also like quite a bit. We never got a Saturn game for that.

they got into the semi finals of the world baseball classic in 2017 (including mlb players). so technically among the top 4 nations of the world, although I wouldn't rate them so high.
cricket is a sport that way more unpopular than baseball globally. it's huge in india and pakistan, which accounts for a quarter of the world population.
personally I'm a huge rugby union fan. wish that sport was more popular. I'm also a huge cycling fan but that sport is already incredibly popular, although not many video games since it's a hard sport to transfer to a game.

Cricket is a game of true skill and tactics.

Bultje ehhh if you remember, or at least over here it was pretty blatant to MLB fans, but they basically filled the roster with alot of decent MLB players with barely a slice of Dutch heritage. In the US/Canada we have soo many sports to follow and many which I love (ice hockey, baseball etc) but I have preference for a lot of world sports. Cricket I enjoy watching a few test matches per year. I love the endurance and the "battle" aspect of a 4-5 day match. I root for smaller minnow nations but I do follow South Africa for larger competition. Rugby I like and I agree Union is better than the League stuff I saw in Australia. But I also really like AFL (Aussie Rules) and follow N. Melbourne when I have the time. And of course soccer is a top favorite sport (AS Roma!)
