Agreed this is a real problem.,, Annoying that you had a problem with Nights in UltraISO, I'll give that a try here at some point and see if I can replicate. Might be worth reporting it to them. I've converted about 20 images with UltraISO so far and no issues.
Just tried PowerISO, that has the same problem, not creating a true virtual drive that CD/DVD imaging software can use.
Daemon Tools is just producing unusable images here 100% of the time and keeps causing the PC to freeze, I cannot recommend it.

Alcohol 120% - Tried the trial of the full version, not the malware ridden free version, but still ended up with "smart file adviser" on my PC.
Did the same as before, created a CDI file from an original Saturn game, tested it, worked ok. Mounted same CDI file and created a new one using discjugger... "NOT A SATURN DISC" according to RMENU.

Daemon Tools LITE works properly on my end, as far as converting images go. I mount, then make a .cdm in cd manipulator (multisession mode, subcode reading enabled), rename the cdm to ccd, and play. It never failed for me.
Also, remember that you need to make sure you do full subcode check to include the pregaps in the image. This may be why you can't get some applications to work, as they have alternate ripping modes for simpler formats and more powerful ones. CloneCD itself is capable of ripping with or without pregap information too.
Ultraiso may have worked for you because, like I mentioned, I tried an edge case - Nights has two data tracks and requires proper pregap information to work. Games that don't require that may work fine. Also, some games like Taito Chase HQ will also require proper subcodes as it have multiple track indexes, so I bet that one won't work on Ultraiso either.
PowerISO installer leads to a malware site on my end, same as all Alcohol installers, both for 52% and 120%.
If NRG files were supported in Rhea (they include subcodes iirc), then Nero could be a viable option, but last time I checked it wasn't free - plus, I've been using the same version of it for over 10 years (because it works flawless even on Windows 10), I have no idea what a modern version of Nero looks like or what it can/cannot do.

Yep doing the whole subcode dance in discjuggler.
Did not encounter any malware in PowerISO, but it's no good for this use case anyway.
Going to try Daemon Tools on another PC, as well as under Windows 7, definitely something screwy going on.

Just tried Daemon Tools Lite 10.07 on another PC with Windows 7.. same results, mount a perfectly working image file, run it through discjuggler, get a non working image. Discjugger is verified as working fine by making an image from an original CD no problem.
Zyrobs, are you using Daemon Tools in SCSI or DT mode?

Apparently the newer Daemon Tools is messed up. I'm using an older version of lite, 4.46.xxxx with Disc Juggler.

I don't think a version that old can work in Windows 10 can it?
I just switched to SCSI mode in 10.07, under Windows 7, finally I've produced what seems to be a working image. File hash doesn't match but the Rhea sees it and boots it fine.

Same PC, this time with windows 10, same test, Daemon tools 10.7, SCSI mode, Discjuggler...
...Did NOT produce a working image.
I notice that Windows 10 uses different SPTD drivers to 7 and 8, so maybe they aren't as good.
Well I think that's enough public service for one evening. Seems like there's lots of problems with this, watch out everyone.

The file crc will most likely change because different apps rip with different settings, plus Daemon may not handle things like pregaps the same way. Regardless, it should not affect whether the game works or not except for very rare edge cases (or PC Engine titles).

Yeah that makes sense, but still can't get a working image at all under Windows 10.
You were right about Nights not converting correctly btw, it seems to work but won't play the intro, bizarrely.

The intro is on the 2nd track incidentally.
Daemon + CDM worked for me on Windows 10 before, I've converted like a hundred titles before... I'll install it again to check it out this week.

Ah, well that makes perfect sense then.
I'm fairly certain it's worked for me at some point under Windows 10, but definitely isn't now.

Hi I am getting back into this after receiving my first ODE for Saturn. I have the same issue with converting BIN/CUE images. Only way right now I've found is to mount the image using Daemon Tools Lite (10) and then converting to MDS+MDF using ULTRAISO. Games run fine on my Pheobe after. Just a bit of a pain is all.

I want to add to this post and say I don't even bother with CDI anymore since Windows 10 doesn't support it but I am having great success with CCD format files on the Rhea so that's what I recommend now
