I have a strange problem. I put my cooy of SEGA Rally into my original, unmodded Saturn and the disc grates as if it's warped. It's never done that before. Then I put it in my switched Saturn and it runs fine without any scratching sounds.
Has anyone else had this strange issue before?

It could be that the tray is too low or even bent, then you can get the disc wobbling or scratching.

But its the only game that it does it with. The rest of the games work without issue.
I previously had issue with every version of Doom a shop had so maybe certain batches of discs were pressed slightly warped. Or maybe the system tray might have always been a little low or warped. But if the latter was true then I would have run into trouble with more games over the last two decades and I haven't.
Did you alter the height of the tray in the modded system you sold me? It might be why the disc works fine on that system and not the unmodded one.

Well remember that the discs are pieces of plastic, so it is not impossible for them to get warped. Maybe it's the discs fault? Did you alter the height of the tray in the modded system you sold me? It might be why the disc works fine on that system and not the unmodded one. I have no idea, but if it was, then other discs would run like that too. For that matter if the rotor is not straight then all discs will wobble and have constant read issues.

My Die Hard Arcade disc does that alot, so I have to be very careful when placing it in the console. It's my only game that does that.

My spindle’s always been a bit touchy about securing discs, and I’ve noticed some discs are more touchy than others, as if some were thicker. I’ve seen this phenomenon on the PSX as well, FWIW.
