Has anyone played the Saturn Version of D? I am vey interested to get for my collection and the Saturn Version would be my first Choice to enhance my Saturn Library.
But is the Saturn Version of D decent? or would you recommend to the Steam or Gog Version?

Yeah it is decent, but it is really short. I beat it for the first time in about 40 minutes. It´s an interesting title, and I like the story and the world of D, but whether or not it is worth the pricetag is down to you.
For me, I love the Kenji Eno Trilogy so I am happy with the purchase to have it on my favourite console, but you may want to grab on gog or something if you aren´t as sure.
I would definitely say play Enemy Zero and D2 first though. They are worth the pricetag and will give you an idea as to whether or not D will be for you.

not quite sure this is the right forum section.
anyways , D is a decent game, the game's story is very basic (which makes non English versions very playable), but what keeps the game going is the atmosphere , it goes for a more psychological type of horror , as opposed to the Resident Evil/Alone in the Dark type of cheesy music and scary monster type of thing.
you just have to accept the fact its a very on rails game, the gameplay is closer to Myst than it is to something like Silent Hill or Resident Evil.
As for the Saturn version specifically , Ive got both the 3DO original (in German of all languages) , and the Japanese Saturn . in terms of video compression they are quite similar, although I think the Saturn (and PS1 version) are based on the later director's cut and have a few extra scenes over the 3DO.
The PAL version of the game is quite expensive , but the Japanese versions are quite affordable (although for whatever reasons, the German versions of these games is also quite affordable)

darkman Yes i put this thread into the wrong part of the forum. Sorry for that. I have already though that D is different than other Survial Horror Games of that Area, but thats the main Reason why I am interested in it. thanks for the warning about he price. SpanishAdam Thanks for the advice. I also want to play D2 on the dreamcast and Enemy zero an the Saturn as well. I want to try out all the Kenji Eno Games.I have been interested in them for qute a time but never had time to play them.

I will say regarding Enemy Zero , that its a bit less import friendly than D , since it does genuinely have quite a bit more dialogue (if I remember correctly, all of D's dialogue lasts about a minute or 2 )
Im guessing you could get through it with a guide though , since the PAL version is expensive (no idea about the US one, though id imagine its not cheap either)

enemy zero is the most intense game I've ever played. it's so intense that I can probably never play/finish it again unless I have someone to play it for me. holy shit!!

Its one of the few games Im not ashamed to say I only play on the easy difficulties, its quite brutal and the training sessions are a must. Its not the only game to penalise you for saving , Resident Evil also did it, but then Resident Evil wasn't full of invisible enemies that killed you in one hit.

Enemy Zero is intense and amazing. Worth the PAL price, even at these increased prices

the only issue with the PAL version that Ive noticed is that its got an inconsistent optimisation , where the 3D sections are optimised, while any of the FMV sections are, and playing the game at 60hz causes stuttering and FMVs cutting out.
ie, if you have a 60hz system avoid it and go for a Japanese or even better American release.

Thanks for the further infos darkman and SpanishAdam. darkman I will try to go with US or the Pal version even there are very expensive. The japanese Version would be so cheap but as the game is story driven i have to with a language I understand.

Honestly, I never had any noticeable issues with the PAL version so it is probably only something you notice when you compare the versions. As such, I would say just go with the cheapest version.... but definitely in English

if you simply play it at 50hz you don't notice it obviously, its only when forced into 60hz.
ie if you have a PAL Saturn its fine, but on an unmodded NTSC Saturn there will be issues
