The steering wheels are hit or miss at this age. if you're using it and it seems off, it probably is. Hopefully your's isn't beat up.

I just got one of those wheels some had refurbished. Game changing for the racers on the Saturn. I enjoyed them with the d-pad or 3D analog controller but man with the wheel they are all just better. Also that looks like a solid deal to me!!

What do you need it for? Just cheats and playing imports or playing imports and CD-Rs? There are a variety of carts so tell us what features you think you want. I want, to save my game progress, have acces to 4mb ram expension, play imports and cd-r's. honestly I would go for an official saturn memorycard and use the 4-1 only for imports and 4mb expansion games. I've owned so many 4-1's and they would all crash at one point and lose it's saving capablities or not work at all. the official saturn memory card is like a dream. it can contain so much data, always works and let's you save from within the game directly to the memory card instead of to the internal memory where you have to transfer it to the 4-1 manually and or lose data if the battery is the console is empty. if you plan to only play cd-r's then go for the rhea if you can get one.

What's the actual advantage beside convince with Pseuodo Saturn, comparing to disc swap? Disc swapping ruins the cd drive... long term it's not a good solution. No need to ruin any more consoles.

Disc swapping ruins the cd drive... This is an urban myth. So putting extra stress on the motor doesn't damage it by wearing it out more quickly? I thought this was true of all motors. It isn't something I would be doing either way. I doubt my consoles would be functioning perfectly for 20 years if I was mistreating them constantly.

I doubt my consoles would be functioning perfectly for 20 years if I was mistreating them constantly. It does put extra stress on the motor, but not a significant amount for it to cause long term problems. It mainly causes stress on the motors by preventing their movement from stirring up the air, and thereby cooling themselves, and they end up overheating which is what damages them. Holding the motor for a split second isn't enough to cause so severe damage, and I'd wager that it falls within the normal mechanical tolerance the motors are designed for anyway. The fact that people slam the disc onto the tray causes more problems, and even then not to the motor itself, but by dislodging the tray. I think the entire myth comes from the fact that the drives expire anyway, whether you swap or not, and CDRs do actually make the pickups expire faster... and when the pickup can't see a disc, the drive thinks it is empty, and it won't try spinning up the tray. Making people think that it is the motor that has gone bad, when it's really the pickup needing calibration. Of all the broken Saturns I've seen in the past ten years, none of them had a broken motor.

saturn has the strongest cd drive of any console I've ever owned. I own 5 saturns and they all work without a single problem and 3 of them have been altered to use the disc swap.

You're unlikely to damage the Saturn in any big way disc swapping properly, the main reason I usually advise people against it is because I've seen the heavy handed way a lot of people do disc swapping.
