Howdy-
My RGB-modded Saturn occasionally has white streaks from certain instances of white text. They either span the screen or go from the text to the right edge of the screen.
Not consistent.
Piping into SCART into a Sony PVM.
Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting?
Thanks, -Jason

Hmmmm...let me get back to you on that. In the shuffle of modding most/all of my systems for RGB, perhaps I lost track. *blush*

Thanks for your reply. I'm super swamped, so no time to open up my Saturn to inspect. I don't seem to have accurate information on the cable that I'm using. I suspect that it was given to me by a friend. Is there a recommended good cable to get for SCART RGB? Attached are some pictures that show the streaking behavior. These show pronounced streaks. Sometimes the streaks are subtle. They appear to generally be attached to places where there is high contrast (like light text on a dark background). Other consoles on this monitor do not have streaks, so I think my monitor is OK. I think/hope it's the cable (poor shielding?) & not the console, so I'm inclined to purchase a high-quality new cable to test my theory. Thank you, -Jason

I looked around for a cable. Many were extremely inexpensive (< $10). Various forum posts pointed to audio or video issues due to insufficient shielding. I just ordered www.ebay.com/itm/302855131785 , which seemed to be in the mid/high price range, & which mentions a thorough shielding scheme, so I'll cross my fingers & report back. Thank you, -Jason

Got my new cable in the mail yesterday. Fast shipping, & this was probably the first time *ever* that I was shipped a cable in a sturdy cardboard box with a padded envelope inside, vs. just a padded envelope. That reflects very well on the vendor, Insurrection Industries. All streaking gone! See screen grabs. Probably chalk it up to poor shielding on the old cable. Hooray! -Jason

PS--this image also looked rock solid. I perceive subtle flicker on most of my RGB consoles, but this looked fabulous.
And many of my photos showed weird curved lines--just an artifact of my phone taking the pics--not an actual visible on-screen issue.
