I came back a year ago after losing everything and starting again (long story, very boring). Well, fook me, if it didn't go pear-shaped again, soon after Still, god loves a tryer, eh?
Offspring woes, work hassles, mega-long hours and working away have kept me from the interwebs, but I'm still standing, still loving my Saturns (probably more than ever, tbh) and ready to plant roots. I ditched my pauly46 reboot account and have logged back in and resurrected my rossi46 account and will continue to do so 'til I get told otherwise.
The announced new Saturn game for 2019 is exciting and Saturn emulation has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years, so there's loads to be enthusiastic about in Saturnland as fas as I can see. I still play Touring Car once a year, just to see if it's as bad as I remember. And it always is. Meantime, I'm still kicking Daytona daily, along with Sega Rally and Wipeout. Saturn shooters and the more 'exotic' stuff I play on my GPD device.
Downsides I notice are a distinct lack of life in here. It used to be jumping, but I suppose social media and times moving on in general are the culprits here. What can you do? Also, eBay prices for Saturn stuff. WT absolute F is going on with that? PAL game manuals for £20 buy it now?? getthefuckouttahere with that shit. Maybe the situation will burn itself out and come full circle.
I have a model 1 and model 2 JP Saturn left, along with 80-something JP games. Plus 22 regular PAL titles that everyone else has. My brother picked me up a Hitachi model 2 controller on his last visit to Akihabara (sp?) for peanuts and that looks ace with my grey model one machine. Also started using Pseudo Saturn last year after resisting the urge for long enough, as I didn't want to 'cheapen' my Saturn gaming. So far it's..ok. It's the only machine I feel slightly uneasy about emulating as I somehow feel like I'm cheating on a partner.
Anyway, that's me up to date.
