Hello everyone! Sega fan from Norfolk UK here. On December 25th 2018 my incredible girlfriend gave me a wonderful Sega Saturn and now here I am!
Since then I have got myself an action replay cart which I flashed with pseudo saturn kai and an OSSC to connect it to my HDTV. I also sent it off to have the switchless region/60hz mod which was terrifying but it all worked out great in the end.
Life is good and I hope you are all enjoying your Saturns just as much as I am!
Cheers!

Hello yourself and welcome home!
That sounds like a decent setup, right there. What titles have you played so far?

Hello yourself and welcome home! That sounds like a decent setup, right there. What titles have you played so far? Thanks! I am pleased with the set up, it looks amazing. I have been mainly playing shmups and a bit of Legend of Oasis. They all look so good through the OSSC, all of the OSSC scaling modes and functions work perfectly with my cheapo sharp 1080p hdtv too so I feel lucky as a lot of peoples expensive 4k sets can only do line doubling. I have the saturn set up with line4x and scanlines.

Hi and wellcome. What setting do you use with your OSSC. I cant do 4x and sometimes have troubles when signal changes from resolution. With the psx even i have black borders on the tv. Maybe because im using a Sony Bravia 32' Hi there Cerv3ro! Does it just take a second to sync when it changes resolution or does it completely lose sync and not come back? I'm not the most knowledgeable with this stuff but I did notice I lost sync when playing about with the "sampling phase" setting so maybe fiddling with that might help? I don't have a psx to test at the mo I'm afraid but I get borders on the saturn and megadrive if I use "generic 4:3" instead of optimal timings. Regarding the 4x mode I wouldn't be too worried as long 2x mode works, I can barely tell the difference on a 42" screen and I think the scanlines look better in 2x mode anyway. I was fiddling with it last night and I ended up changing all the profiles to 2x. Maybe on a 65" screen it might be more noticeable or maybe I am quite blind! I use the ossc with my megadrive and saturn which are both PAL modded to 60hz and I use the settings and timings from this page: www.firebrandx.com/osscprofiles.htmlI have the 320, 352 and 704 res modes on profiles 1,2 and 3 and I use the remote to switch between them. The saturn is fairly awkward in this regard because some games use different modes for their title screens and videos and another mode for the actual gameplay. For example yesterday I had a go on capcom generation 2 ghouls and ghosts and it uses 352 mode on the capcom menu screen but 320 in the actual games. I hope that at some stage the ossc firmware will be updated to automatically change the profile depending on resolution but for now using the remote with the 3 profiles is good enough for me. Good luck and if there is anything else I can help with let me know!
