I bought a component cable for the Saturn. However, it like the composite cable don't fit tightly, and as a result I have to hold the cable in place and eventually it will not hold its position and the signal will be lost. What I'm wondering is since I bought the component cable from the U.S. is the input port for PAL and NTSC consoles different, because that would explain why the PAL RGB scart cable fits tightly in the console, but not the other cables which I have. If that's the case, what are the viable solutions?

I have 2 JP consoles and a PAL and as far as I can see the connectors are the same.
Maybe the connector in the console is a bit loose? Might be worth opening it up and seeing if it is seated properly.
If the SCART cable still fits OK then it's more likely to be just cheap cables with poor connectors on them.

The connector is the same, however one of the pins is different. Pin 1 is sync on NTSC consoles where it is +9 volts on PAL consoles.
Should not affect component cables.

Is there a way to modify the pin if that's the case?

Is there a way to modify the pin if that's the case? It's possible but complicated and may not get you the desired results as later Japanese motherboards lack the necessary voltage pin. It should only affect RGB SCART cables, so make sure you buy ones which are universal.
