Not familiar with him I'm afraid. I've yet to hear anything negative about Retrobit's cables, but I've got no experience with them myself: retro-bit.com/cables/saturn.htmlI'm sure the last S-Video cable I got for the Saturn was from ConsoleGoods but Rob doesn't seem to stock them any more.

Engineering Fact: For use across distances less than 10 feet, any S-Video cable regardless of price will produce the same video/audio output with no instrument measured advantage, but most cheaper cables have a shielding percentage of less than 80 and usually, there is no braided foil or spiral shielding on it. This affects the durability of the cable and of course, makes it more succeptible to EMF interference. So if you are going to plug it in and leave it and have no EMF sources close by, there is absolutely no measurable advantage to the expensive cables other than durability and EMF sheilding. But, I'm sure that some out there will swear that all these facts that I have learned in over 30 years in my profession are wrong and that some Brand X cable fuctions better than the others.....

Do you mean that for s-video cable only, or s-video + stereo all in the same cable with a breakout in the end? I would imagine that the latter would be more susceptible to interference, especially without shielding.

The S-Video with Stereo cable is 3 seperate cables in one. The S-Video and composite audio are both analog and require no shielding from each other. The shielding is there to to reduce EMF interference from outside sources.

I'm looking at getting a s-video cable + an old plasma tv as a quick easy solution. On a side note, I've noticed vga interference with my Dreamcast while using pico psu....What causes that??
