Corpse Killer CIB will run you $30... I assume you are US based? If not probably more with shipping. There was a time when it was going around $50 but I swear some new old stock started finding its way to the market and you can get new ones for around $40. The one I got off Ebay cost $24 and it came mint, almost as if it was opened then shipped immediately after. That's crazy. When I got mine, paying anything more than $10 for a complete copy of that game would have been considered a rip-off. (Heck, I'd still say it's a rip-off, regardless of what the going rate is. I'm pretty sure I sold it on to someone on these boards for $5; if I charged more than that, my apologies!) Heir of Zendor I feel generally is considered the most boring game on the Saturn by the casual gamers but it depends entirely on how much you like micro management strategy sims. There's really no micromanagement involved though, unless you consider the likes of Off-World Interceptor or Shining Force III to be micromanagement. You just upgrade your ships' levels, pick your fleet and missile load outs for each battle, and that's it. The game's wicked fun, albeit laughably easy. And incredibly, most of the final boss battles (there are several of them, due to the branching story paths) are among the easiest battles in the game. Easy though the battles are, though, the strategy mechanics are just sublime. I really need to knuckle down and write a review of the game one of these days.

the main thing putting me off for really getting into heir of zendor is the time it feels it'll take to complete!

Well, I got my brand new copy of Corpse Killer - only to find out it's the only version of the game that doesn't support the light gun!! I feel a bit cheated!!!

I thought I mentioned that but its the only version that doesn't support the light gun... however from what Ive read the light guns are uselessly inaccurate in all versions and they aren't continuous fire. Although it would have been neat just to include it anyway, I feel like this game works far better with a controller especially since you have to switch between the different bullets. I recall having the same feeling when I read this before playing it, thinking wtf, only to realize it still the best version.

I'm still having fun with it despite the light gun thing! it's a bit unclear what's killing me... and what shots do what... but I'll maybe read the manual and give it another go

Ok so a couple things. If you shoot the falling powerup that looks like a skull with a knife through it, youll take damage. Avoid shooting those. It adds a bit of strategy to it.
The zombies that pop up on the front of the screen, you have to use the bullet mapped to the Z button. And the black witch looking enemies you have to use one of the 2 other style of bullets. Sorry I cant explain it better. Once you figure out the flow of the game you'll master it.

I picked up Torico on sale yesterday. Haven't played much (just been wandering around town) but it is very atmospheric so far and I appreciate the cut scenes, even if some of the dialogue is awful. I'm looking at getting back into it once I've given my other pickups a test.

Christmas Update:
I asked my Uncle about the mystery stuff and he just kind of looked at me confused, then I said the Saturn games and stuff and he said he forgot all about it. He said he will try to remember for next time, although he said that wouldn't be until Spring. So that kinda sucks, hopefully he will remember, maybe I'll have to stop by my grandmas once in a while to remind him.

Still in the quest for the Satakore full set, I could get a copy of Kochira (name abbreviated) with its spine card, looks like this spine is pretty rare to come by : Also, a global view of the ever-growing collection :

Just purchased Pocket Fighter and it's not a bad game.Even my friend who can't get into 2d fighters had a blast. With only 3 buttons and the simplified game play it makes it a great little game for newcomers to 2d fighters.

Picked up a complete copy of Shining Force III. Nice grab! I assume the NA version? Id say one of my favorite coverarts (and backarts if you wanna get more specific). Although its really a blownup version of the JPN cover, its still great.
