Whats the best scart cable to connect to a crt with saturn? anyone got one/make they recommend?
ive got a sony widescreen crt
my current scart keeps flicking over to a blue/purple tinge , was just a cheap ebay one and it hasn't lasted
tried a rf cable but its quite blurry so im not sticking with that, also tried a component/rgb and that looked crap too

I haven't tried the one linked above, but the best one I've used was the official cable that came with model 2 PAL consoles.

RetroGamingCables or Retro Access both make great quality cables.

A man of taste then. Yeah - RGB SCART is the only way. retrogamingcables are the folk I've used most. Quality products. As a rule you get what you pay for.

i think ill order a Retro Gaming cable Scart as its roughly the same cost as official ones but it will be brand new

RGB cable combined with an upscaler like an OSSC or Framemeister is clearly the best way to go.

He's got a CRT, so he only needs the RGB cable in this instance.

I would also recommend the Retro gaming uk cable. I use it with my Framemeister and the image quality is really good. I haveno experience with CRT but there is no reason that the cable should not work very well on the a CRT as well.

I ended up getting an Insurrection industries Sync on Luma cable which has the same specs as the Retro Gaming cable one. Using it on a Sony 26" Wide Flatscreen CRT (not curved) and the picture is great very pleased. I like to stick with a nice CRT for Saturn, Megadrive, Snes. I have a nice 40" 4K Panasonic for Xbox, Wii U, PS4 and splashed out on a Dreamcast DCHDMI machine last Xmas! would highly recommend makes DC games look awesome

I have a VGA cable for DC for using on a flat screen and RGB SCART for my CRT. There's a couple of games with which I prefer the RGB CRT. Gigawing springs to mind as one of them but most games look great either way. The main advantage of VGA is that you don't have overscan.

Unfortunately with DC VGA on modern TVs/monitors you get that slight squashing of the image due to quirks in the DCs VGA signal, once you see it it's hard to unsee it lol. DC Digital corrects this internally.
Nice thing about DC Digital you can still output 240p and use a good DAC to get the signal to your CRT. That makes cables a lot simpler for me. I don't know why they didn't put that in PS Digital and N64 digital.

Oh...I've only used it with an older TV. It has a pixel doubling option that makes the DC fit the screen vertically while retaining the 4:3 aspect ratio. Maybe I should hold onto that TV!!! Still thinking of getting OSSC anyhow. Might wait for the pro (unless you have some good deals?)

I'd be more interested in an OSSC - have a SNES, MD, N64(modded for RGB), DC, GC, Saturn, PS1&2 all with RGB SCART cables so I'd get the most out of that by far. I'm thinking I can connect my Thor powered SCART switch into the OSSC for convenience. Would that be workable?
