For the first time in a couple of weeks I fired up the Saturn yesterday only to discover that the sound has completely failed, I suspect that there could be an issue with the output socket but it could just be that the cable has died either way it seems like I'm going to have to get myself another Saturn or a new RF cable.

I would bet on a dodgy cable, can you ise anything other than RF? they are notoriously unreliable.

I don't have a SCART switching unit and my TVs SCART socket currently has my 360 going in to it so I'm limited to RF, I've been planning to get a SCART switch at some point so I can run most of my consoles at once, I won't be able to do that until early September though.
I think I'll put my Saturn away for a while and once I get some money I'll get myself an RGB SCART cable and switching unit and hope that it is the cable and not the console.

I am not going around the back of my TV to switch cables on a regular basis, it's far too inaccessible to be easy.

Not being funny nick, thats a piss poor excuse, everyones tellys have lots of cables etc. There was a time when multi scarts didn't exist as well. In reality it's not that much effort, eh? I'm from a time when you had to type your own games for days on end to play them, so I don't see changing a scart as that much of a biggie.

If you read my previous posts, I plan to do that, although I'll probably get a 5 or 6 input unit so I can attach loads of consoles to the TV

Stay away from the ones Argos sell, you never get the one that's in the Catalog.
They list specific brands in the catalog, then when you actually get it it's some shit generic Made in China crap you get instead.

then you may want to get one of the ones with the buttons on. as somethings wont work together for example...Gamecube and Xbox will not work correctly.
:/
...also i stuck the box to the top of my tv with tape....Looks stupid but alot more convenient

Just a quick update I had a proper play with the cable today and judging by what I had to do to get sound it's definitely the cable and not my Saturn which is at fault, so that's going to be an easy swap, I reckon I'll buy an RGB scart lead from Rob Webb and at the same time grab RGB scart leads for my Gamecube, Mega Drive and SNES. ;D
