Mk1 saturn which doesnt seem to detect the vcd card pluged in the back. Vcd card works fine on mk2 saturn that i also own. Mk1 also has tendancy after being played for half hour or so to show lots of lines on the screen when turned off and then back on. Any ideas whats wrong and how to fix it?

Sounds vaguely like a power board issue I had ages ago with one of my model 1's
Wouldn't like to say for sure but replacing the power board would be my first port of call...

Oh my sainted aunt. That's exactly what ails my Mk1. And there was me thinking I was alone. Weird, isn't it? It's like it's overheating or something. I mean, it'll play fine on the one game for...well...ever, but hit reset or power down for anything less than five or six hours and you just get lines over the picture. Well, that and a whine from, I think, the disc drive.
Reckon it's the power board? How can I sort that out? I did buy another MK1 as a donor unit (working innards, tatty case) but it had a different motherboard type. Doh!

I've been gettin' some serious overheating with my Saturn. I don't get any lines on the screen but after about 15 minutes of play my Saturn is totally burning on the left side where the Power unit is. I think it's the reason the disc drive is going a bit weird too, like takin' ages to load a game up.
