Daioh P! is Shienryu 2?!

If you've played or fooled around with the shmup-making tool Dezeamon 2, you undoubtly tried out all three visible, non secret example shmups. You also probably admired them for their high quality. The third example shmup, in my opinion, is the best out of the three. The title of the example game is called "Daioh P!", and is MUCH higher quality than the rest, with more than three people who worked on it and a lot more unique boss battles and graphical effects. I actually pop in Dezeamon 2 just to play this game because I love it so much, especially on Maniac difficulty.
I decided to fart around online one day, looking for random MAME ROMs, when I came across one title that kicked me in the face SUPER hard! I was like "WHOA!!" and there it was, staring me in the face, a title named "Daioh". So what did I do? I immediately downloaded it and played it.
The game intro started and I was greeted with the familiar looking ship. Hooray! I also saw it was made by the same company, as expected. It even had the same victory music when you beat a level, and the first level shared one tune from Daioh P!. Those aren't the interesting points however...
When I started playing, I found the first level looked very familiar. In fact... when I reached the boss, I discovered that the level was IDENTICAL, enemy placement, boss and all, to Shienryu! The only difference was that you had six buttons, and three triggered the different guns you get in Shienryu, and you got three bombs, which were the three types you got in Daioh P! depending on the gun you had. I also linked the guns from Shienryu with Daioh P! at this point, and realized... they're the exact same! Even the powerups and point items! Only difference was Shienryu had a different scoring scheme.
By level 2, I was expecting the game to be different finally, just presenting a mere coincidence. However! While the theme was different on the second level... AGAIN! The mini boss, the level, the enemy placement... ALL the same as Shienryu! Mayve different sprites, but yeah! However, the boss was different, but it was the same again by level 3 and up!
What I'm trying to say, is that Shienryu is a remake of Daioh, except enhanced in graphics and dumbed down in difficulty. (Daioh is TERRIBLY MUCH HARDER than Shienryu!) Daioh P!, the example game, may just be a Shienryu 2.
Just thought I'd share that. I found it interesting. It helps me understand better as to why I love Daioh P! so much more than the other example games that I honestly don't care much about.
EDIT: Another thing, Warashi made Shienryu. Did Athena change their name?
