I have been offered some of the above at a very reasonable price.
I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has any experience of using the above brand or, indeed, anyone who can tell me if there are any quality standards I should look for when buying a step down.
The 'Game Source' units are manufactured in China. I am not suggesting this is necessarily an indictment of the product, as so is the, (very expensive), equivalent from Maplins'. I did notice that the latter was marked 'CE', however, as is my console itself - Is this relevant?

I can't comment on that exact brand but my step down converter was the cheapest and nastiest eBay had to offer direct from HK and years later it's fine...

I have seen step down converters in Maplins now. If there's one near you it might be a better bet with easier warranty issues etc. Don't think it cost that much more than the one I got online.
