Got myself a multi region, 50-60hz reset switched MK1 PAL Saturn. Should have done this earlier! The Japanese games run in full screen and that bit faster and smoother. PAL Daytona USA in 60hz mode is a bit too fast for my shoddy reflexes though

I picked up a second Model 2 Japanese Saturn from Yamatoku for my main TV room. I have it hooked up through the composite inputs on a Sony VCR, which is hooked up to a 50" Hisense TV through composite since it doesn't have s-video inputs. The console and controller looked a lot better in the auction photos than in person. But I used some purple Super Clean, Goo Gone and Magic Eraser pads to bring everything back to nice condition.

I am EXTREMELY happy to have picked up my 2nd Saturn the other day. A gorgeous white Japanese model 2. It's replacing our model 1 NTSC console since it's just an all around better machine for us (and can play KOF 95...). We had been thinking of importing one for awhile BUT we actually found one LOCALLY in the Saturn wasteland of the central United States. A local game resale shop had it sitting there and we immediately bought it and gave it a new, loving home. It came with all original hookups, M2 white controller, and an added bonus of an official Sega Memory cart. The weirdest part was the shopkeepers told us it was traded in with no Saturn games but a bunch of Sega CD games (which we picked up a few of). Still in shock we found an import Saturn (let alone ANY saturn) locally. Saved us waiting and shipping costs, too. She's beautiful! I'll have an ipdated Saturn collection post elsewhere in a bit. Just really excited to share! Oddly enough, either our old composite cable from the US Saturn was messed up or this one is just much nicer, because games are much better sounding on this Saturn. It's our first model 2, though, and I am actually really happy with it despite personally preferring the design of the model 1 more.

I've finally picked up the USB Saturn Data Link. Been wanting this bad boy for awhile. For those that don't know what it does, it allows you to transfer and back up Save files from your Sega Saturn to a PC via the Action Replay 4 in 1 Cart and vice versa. It also allows you to play and download a selection of homebrew games, although I haven't got round to that part yet as I mainly bought as a back up for my save files on my AR4in1. But now I can finally revisit Panzer Dragoon Saga without worrying about my removing my AR Cart from the Saturn cartridge slot for fear of it wiping the memory one day and IF that day ever happens I have ALL my Saturn Saves backed up on my laptop. Good times! Nice! I take it this requires one of the old 4in1's that still have the serial port on top? I purchased my 2.01 cart back in the late 90's, I'm assuming that would work with this?

Indeed it does, so long as you have the serial port on top it will work fine. My AR is also a 2.01 from the 90's so you'll have no problems with your one either.

This is my latest purchase.. not really anything impressive, plus it's a dual console peripheral, ie Saturn & PlayStation So I now present, the Max Blaster: Though when I took it out of the packaging it had been sent in, to say 'grubby' would be an understatement! It had been used very extensively and the seller just didn't bother to even give it a once-over before sending it to me, *yuk* But, an hour later, disassembled, cleaned, reassembled and sprayed with my special polish, it now looks a treat

Here's my hardware haul acq uired over the last week. The newest piece is the "3D" controller which is in pretty good condition and works well. Now I just need to figure out what on earth is going on in Nights and I'm good to go. I really like the feel of the 3D controller in my hands aswell, much more comfortable than the Model 1 Sega controller I think.
Linky for pics
