Hey guys I recently dug out my ol' Saturn to relive some of the old days. Long story short it shutdown randomly then wouldn't turn on again, it works from time to time but turns off of its own accord.
Has anyone else experienced this? It is the oval buttoned one if that helps.
Thanx

Sounds to me like a power supply issue, or perhaps some internal components have overheated and died =S Is the Saturn in a well ventilated area? You could also open up the Saturn and check the following:
1. The pins are correctly in place. Down the front end of the console are a series of pins that I believe transfer an electrical current into the internal components of the Saturn.
2. Try and check if the plug connected into the back end of the power board is properly fitted.
See how you go with that, and hopefully you figure out the issue soon.

Sounds like a good ol fashioned power board issue.
First thing is first, wiggle the power lead in the back and see if that makes it come on or go off.
Next we need to investigate, unscrew the screws underneath your Saturn and lift of the lid, the separate circuit board you will see to the left (usually either brown or white) if the power board. Remove this board and check that the plug at the back where you plug your mains lead in is not loose on the board, also check that the small glass fuse has not blown, or may be part blown but still bridging the gap and able to momentarily supply power.
Let me know how you get on...

Hey, I had a look around the power board. Nothing seems wrong though i'm not a masters in circuitry so i can't guarantee that.
