i feel the exact opposite way, i feel that the buttons are two spread out (maybe i'm just used to 4 button controllers). although the shoulder buttons feel like they were made for someone who can't reach as far as me, so i see your point...

Dual Shock 3 on PS3 by far has the best analog sticks ever on a home controller - driving games are as easy as they are with a wheel on the PS3 pad!
If we could take the PS2 pad and transplant in the PS3's analog sticks, it would be a lot better.

That non-dualshock analogue pad is easilly my favorite playstation pad, all the later pads cramp my hands up.
You know I actually really liked the original 'fat' xbox pad!

I use the 3d pad out of necessity because I am a new sega saturn player and my collection is limited.

I'm STILL using the original mark one Saturn pad for the majority of my games (Which is strange as I prefer the mark 2 ones!!). Certain games I use different controllers for, e.g. Analogue Pad for Nights (a must!!), Dark Savior and Manx TT (I tend to have it constantly pressed forward and roll my thumb left and right for accurate steering). I use my pad for some my of driving games too, Wipeout & 2097, street racer, Destruction Derby etc. but I'll always use the Arcade Racer wheel for Daytona, Sega Rally, Sega Touring Car, Touge 1+2 and Outrun (Still such an enjoyable game to play, especially with the steering wheel for that 'arcade' feel!!). I tend to use my pad almost exclusively for 2D fighting games (probably because I first got into them on the Snes), but most of the 3D fighters (VF2 etc.) make me switch to my Arcade Controller (again, probably because thats how I've gotten used to playing them). For shoot-em-ups though, it's my Arcade stick all the way - It just doesn't feel right playing them on a pad to me any more.

I'm generally a fan of larger controllers (like the Saturns 3D pad, Dreamcast pad, N64 pad & the old Xbox fat) as they easily fit my large hairy, meaty, muscular & above all manly hands.
Did I mention how manly my hands are?
