Apologies if this has already been mentioned (I did search); let's say I wanted to perform this mod. Which motherboard revisions would this be possible on? Furthermore, is it possible to know which systems would (or should; obviously the case could be changed) have this motherboard revision, without opening it up? Store sellers aren't always too keen on having you open the console up before buying. Really cool that this database has been made though, keep up the good work! I'll add my data when I'm home.

That mod requires a VA2-5 board - the early model 2s.
But I think it's more fun to lead out the access led into the top of the CD drive, taping it onto the plexi glass. Then it illuminates the entire top of the console, and it looks rad.

Yeah, all the JVC drives have an access indicator, but VA6+ ones do not put it in the ribbon, so you have to tap them from the cd board. I put one in a VA9 PAL unit once.

I still get emails now and then about new entries, though I haven't updated the site in a while. I should at least go through the ones saved on my machine, but I have so little time nowadays.
Either way, thanks for the pics!

I've got this one yesterday, maybe needs another psu, because it freezes at cold start (usually only for firsts 10 minutes).

I've dealt with many of those types of units (PAL VA9) having the same freeze issue, and the only thing that helped them was recapping. Changing the power supply, cd drive, etc, made no difference. Thanks for the pic.

It's been 5 days since I replaced the psu, and the console is still working fine since then, I have no more random freezes. I'm using the psu that I got from this Saturn with faulty motherboard (black screen and no bios boot). Sorry for the finger in the picture! Also, here's the back of my first Saturn. As you can see there's a switch on the back, I use it for the 50/60 hz refresh video output. What about those two wires? It's connected to the cd tray switch, I used for the KD-01 swap trick until I made a fully functional 12 cm diameter KD-01 disc (I've opened a thread about it).

As far as I know, those ST751 units were refurbished units distributed in Portugal. I've seen a bunch and the hardware inside has no relation to the sticker - you can even have model 2 units that still MK-80200-50 on the sticker instead of the MK-80200A-50 for model 2 units. And the grand majority of them I've seen online were being sold from Portugal.

Zyrobs, is there any known pics of what boxes these Refurb units came in?
