Okay, planning a full review of this soon, just wanted to let everyone know the Framemeister now has full English menus and supports both PAL and NTSC material at native refresh rates. This makes it the only scaler I know of that does PAL and NTSC RGB 240/288p to HDMI without deinterlacing and at native frame rates (stutter free). I tested my Japanese Saturn and it was flawless in both PAL and NTSC.
Other improvements I've noticed in the new firmware... stuttering on troublesome systems (Amiga @ 60hz, PAL Megadrive @ 60hz) reduced to barely noticeable levels. I don't know how Micomsoft has done this, frankly I assumed it was already as good as it could possibly get (as discussed in another thread, stuttering on out-of-spec systems can't be eliminated completely, buy a NTSC Megadrive rather than modding a PAL one if possible).
One fly in the ointment, scanline emulation on PAL material does not work. No reason it won't be fixed in a firmware update though.
You want to play your Saturn on a HDTV, you need one of these, nothing else comes close!

£10 RGB scart on a £10 crt tv. better picture than a scaler and saves you over £300. Win.

Depends, I like the picture better on a HDTV, especially where interlace is concerned, plus bigger screen sizes are not to be sniffed at. for just shy of £300 you're getting an awful lot of scaler for your money, a DVDO Edge would set you back around £500, for instance. Having one TV that can do everything saves an awful lot of space too. Shame there's no way to fix light-gun compatibility. People drop hundreds on TV's and amps etc, retro games are equally as important to me.

Yeah but who wants to play on a tiny tiny screen these days! The speakers in those old Commodore monitors were also awful. Reminds me though, I must try the C64 on the Framemeister, it never worked on the old XRGB3 I still have my old Commodore monitor in storage for that (yes does look very nice). I bet the Framemeister could do 80 column C128 mode and 240p.

Well i'll do the majority of retro gaming on my trinitron, but on my desk i'll have the 1084 so if i want to do a bit of gaming while i'm suppose to be getting on work, its not a bad thing

I don't get how you can live in London and have a huge house lol. I did have the 1084s and the C128D set up on my desk for a spell, but the thing is so big and bulky, I wish I'd not parted with my original C64 now...

I moved out of my flat a few years ago and back in with my parents due to how high the rent is, I live in the Bromley Suburb, 15 minutes by overground into london bridge , so to sum up, huge house is because of my parents, tiny flat was what i used to live in, all cramped up haha Prab

C128D is a beast. Used to have one but it never got used much because it was so big and because I have a bread bin C64. I was using it as a C64 too when it was on so got shot of it in the end. It's like having an Amiga A1000 on a desk, that big!

C128D is what I have, lovely nostalgic machine though the S-Video isn't as clean as on some models of the C64.

I was paying £400 for 1 bedroom in a share flat, with bills and council tax on top, eventually it got too much especially with the rent increase. That was in Kingston Upon Thames
