As promised in this thread, I'm posting the complete script of Sword & Sorcery here, in chunks of about five sections per post. I ask that any comments, corrections, etc. be posted in the linked thread, so that people can read the script through without interruptions.

Welcome to the English translation of Sword & Sorcery. Please note that this is NOT a fan translation, but the official translation which appears in the USA release of the 3DO version (which appears under the title Lucienne's Quest). I take credit only for transcribing it and fixing the numerous grammatical errors, and in fact know scarcely any Japanese. I typed up this translation because most Saturn gamers do not own a 3DO, and thus are limited to the Japanese release of Sword & Sorcery, which is hard to play if you don't know what's going on in the story.

Sometimes the game shows the characters' thoughts, by way of thought bubbles. I marked thoughts by enclosing them in double bracers ( {{ }} ). My notes are in brackets. If a character is not identified by name, I tag their dialogue with a simple description, even if the character is later identified. This is to avoid spoilers, naturally.

Narrator: Far, far away, among the mountains, there was a tower called
Pinakoteik. In the tower, lives the great sorcerer Kokindo and his apprentice.
A 15 year old girl by the name of Lucienne.

This legend is one of many stories of Lucienne's Quest. We will now enter into
the wonderful magical world...

II. Tower of Pinakoteik

tower visitor: This is the famous tower of Pinakoteik, home of the great
sorcerer, Kokindo. I hope he can find a cure for my curse. I must gather my
courage and knock on his door, and meet Kokindo. Hello! Is the sorcerer
Kokindo home?

[visitor enters]

Lucienne (shouting): Who's there?

tower visitor: Oh... Who are you?

Lucienne: I'm Lucienne. Who are YOU? What are you looking for?

tower visitor: I... I... I am Ago. I've been told that the great sorcerer,
Kokindo, lives here. Is it possible to see him?

Lucienne: My master is gone.

Ago: What? What did you say!?! What's going on? It can't be!!!

Lucienne: Hum...

[flashback opens]

Kokindo: Lucienne, I must leave town for an errand. I will be gone for a short
while. I hesitate to leave you, a young girl, in charge of the tower. But, I
have no choice.

Lucienne: Yes, Master. You can depend upon me, come high water or heck.

Kokindo: You mean, "come hell or high water".

Lucienne: Oh... Yes, yes (whatever)...

Narrator: Kokindo takes a deep breath and sighs.

Kokindo: So long, Lucienne. The stars tell me, while I'm gone, a visitor will
appear who will cause a great change in your life. The outcome cannot yet be
determined. Either way, you must follow your heart.

Lucienne: ...Yes. (Follow my heart?)

Kokindo: It means don't let your fears stop you.

Lucienne: I understand...?

Narrator: Master shakes his head.

Kokindo: Now, I must leave.

Lucienne: Have a safe journey, Master.

[flashback closes]

Lucienne: That's the story of Master's departure.

Ago: (sob) The curse will be with us forever.

Lucienne: What is this curse?

Ago: This is a tale of our sad plight... Since the Junin (beast man) raided our
village, we suffered their curse. We turn into wolfmen as soon as the sun
sets. There are other villages and towns raided by the Junin, too. I've
visited many doctors, but they all failed to cure us. I then heard of the
great Kokindo, and I came all the way here to see him. But... he's gone. This
was my last hope.

Lucienne: Ah, ha... This sounds exciting!!

Ago: Excuse me??

Lucienne: Ah... I was just talking to myself. Hey, I've got an idea. I will
consult the crystal ball for you.

Ago: You.......? {{But... she is Kokindo's apprentice. Maybe I can trust
her.}}

Lucienne: Ummm... (cough)... Now, I will weave a spell to read the crystal
ball.

Ago: {{Is she for real... But, she is my last resort...?}}

Lucienne: Hubbly, bubbly, boo...

Ago: ...... (Waiting)...

Lucienne: Hummmmmm...

Ago: ...Excuse me... but...

Lucienne: ...Quiet, I'm concentrating. I'm contacting the spiritual plane.
Wooooo... Ago... The cure awaits you in the village of Mirado, past the village
of Babachop. The Junin will have the cure.

Ago: What...? I've traveled this far and still have to go to Mirado!!!!!!

Lucienne: {{Ah... He's falling for it. Hey... I'm bored anyhow. I'll go with
him.}}

Ago: Spirits... Is there any more?

Lucienne: Wooooo...

Ago: What's happening?

Lucienne: You must take the apprentice, Lucienne, with you.

Ago: What... ? But, she's... (just a girl)...

Lucienne: YOU - MUST - TAKE - HER - WITH - YOU.

Ago: OK, OK...

Lucienne: Good. You must heed these instructions.

Ago: Yes, yes...

Lucienne: Whoa... Now, we must gather our supplies from the first floor of the
tower.

Ago: Hum (What's going on?)...

Narrator: Ago thinks something is not quite on the level.

Lucienne: YOU - MUST - TAKE - HER - WITH - YOU.

Ago: OK, OK... I'll take her with me.

Lucienne: Ah...

Narrator: This is how Lucienne and Ago prepare for their trip. Lucienne is
excited by the idea of the adventure. However, she is unaware of the many
dangers that are waiting.

man carrying books: You can sometimes find a Talisman in the treasure box in
the dungeons. The talisman is kept in Solomon's pot. When you use it by
selecting it during battle, its power will attack your enemies instead of
consuming your own MP. You can use it as many times as you want as long as you
have MP, and you don't have to be a magician to use it.

crab man: We are the representatives of the sorcerer Kokindo. You mean
Kokindo asked you to pick something up for him.

man in overalls: Magic must be found along the journey, not bought in the
store. Tradition says, when a magician comes of age, they must search out
their magic.

wandering blue creature: There is a colony in our area where they make
weapons and shields, and the supplies for adventuring.

[if you talk to the pink creature]
Lucienne: Behind this door, we can find money and items we need for the
journey. Master said I can use them in an emergency.

left sentinel: Each weapon has its own property of destruction. With a
higher power weapon, you can even topple stone walls.

right sentinel: This is the tower of Pinakoteik. There is a colony in our
area. You will need to buy weapons from the armory in the colony for your
journey.

III. Colony

little boy: If you rest in a camp, your HP will restore to full power. If
you rest in the Inn, your MP and HP will restore to full power.

woman: This is a Pinakoteik colony. The tower you see from here is the
house of the great sorcerer, Kokindo. But, you know that... Lucienne. The
village of Babachop is located on the east side of the river of this colony.
I bet you did not know that, Lucienne.

man: Hi, Lucienne, are you out shopping today? If you are planning a long
journey, you'd better buy weapons and shields. To buy weapons and shields,
select them from the Camp menu. Higher power weapons can even destroy stone
walls. While your weapon's power is low, you'll need to fight away from caves
or rocky areas.

IV. Babachop
************
guy with hammer: In the dungeon, there are bars and walls you can break with
weapons. Some bars and walls require higher power weapons. The bars and walls
in Chichibora cave can be broken with a club or battle ax that you can buy
here.

mole-bear in dress: If you prove to be good magicians, there's more magic to
be found here.

guy with hammer: Did yew' know wee'z in a war? We got heapz of troublezz.
The leader' z got cowardz in the famli'. 'taint nothin' we kin do 'bout it.
'taint no use tellin' strangers 'bout it though.

mole-bear in dress: Tadaaaa... I'm the beauty queen of Mole-Bears, Miss
Fuzzie. Do you like my shapely curves. Yes? I'll be eternally indebted to
the brave heroes who save us from the Ogres.

underground worker: The Ogres are vicious, ruthless monsters. Their nest is
in Chichibora's cave in the north-east side of Babachop village. They are the
mole-bear's natural enemy.

inn keeper: 10 Gold per day to stay.
[if you stay]: I hope you had a good stay. Please come back soon.

worker on second floor: They are a family known for their warriors in this
village. But the son, Miminaga, is rumored to be a coward.

mole-bear next to previous: You are in Babachop's village. We are called the
Mole-Bears. The Chichibora's cave is in the north-east corner of Babachop
village.

yellow kid: When the ogres attack, Miminaga hides in his house. We have to
come and get him to fight.

mole-bear next to previous: Mirado? You can't travel with the war on. If we
win the war with the Ogres, we can again travel freely.

Miminaga: I'm not going to get myself killed being a warrior. Fighting scares
me.

[Miminaga leaves]

Chief: This is my heart-ache. He must succeed me as a warrior. He will not
follow tradition.

Lucienne: Why are you bandaged?

Chief: Hummm? You must be strangers here?

Lucienne: I'm Lucienne. This is my friend, Ago. You look like you've been
hurt.

Chief: Oh, this? We had to fight with the Ogres. My fighting skills are the
pits...

Lucienne: Ah ha... Is it painful?

Chief: Not really, but I'm very stiff.

Lucienne: I'll use a spell to relieve your injuries. [casts a spell] How do
you feel now?

Chief: It's much better. Thank you.

Lucienne: That's good. What's wrong, now?

Chief: Well, the injury left me weak. The thought of the Ogres returning makes
me frustrated. That's why I'm hard on my son, Miminaga.

Lucienne: Miminaga, the man who just walked out?

Chief: That's him.

Ago: How's the battle with the Ogres doing?

Chief: Poorly, our army is pitiful. We have been relying on fortification.
This village is good for defense, and the majority of the people are
mole-bears. They are comfortable living in caves.

Ago: You can't lose, but you can't win either.

Chief: I know. Yes, I am the leader of our army, but I'm stuck here. Besides,
I can't rely on my coward son. There is no way to win.

Lucienne: I have a plan. We can stop the Ogres.

Chief: It's impossible. Besides, why would you fight for the Mole-Bears? You
owe us nothing.

Lucienne: I have my own reasons. We must go to Mirado. We must pass through
Chichibora caves. For this reason, we must stop the Ogres.

Chief: How will you stop them?

Lucienne: We will sneak into the nest, and kill the leader.

Chief: The Ogres' leader? But, that is impossible!!!

Ago: Even the strong army without a leader will fall apart.

Chief: I agree... But, how will you accomplish this feat?

Ago: A small group could sneak into their nest.

Lucienne: That's correct. We need Miminaga's help for this plan.

Chief: Miminaga?...

Lucienne: Yes, sir.

Chief: I'm his father, but I have to say... He is a coward.

Lucienne: I have my reasons.

Ago: Cowardice and weakness are two different things. We need the opportunity
to learn his strength.

Lucienne: That is true. Well, we must leave now.

Chief: We have a guardian at the mouth of Chichibora cave. He will let you
pass with Miminaga. Also, take this with you. I am sure it will be a great
help.

[various items received]

Lucienne: Thanks, sir.

Chief: Take care of my son.

Chief: Lucienne, Ago, please take care of my son.

Miminaga: And who are you?

Lucienne: I'm Lucienne. This is Ago. Are you Miminaga?

Miminaga: Uh... Y... Y... Yes.

Lucienne: Ah... ha. Come with us!

Miminaga: Come where???

Lucienne: To go and fight the Ogres.

Miminaga: What...? You must be crazy!!!

Lucienne: Don't be afraid.

Miminaga: No way!!

Lucienne: We need you to lead us to Chichibora cave. We don't know how to get
there. Just lead us to the entrance. You don't have to come in.

Miminaga: If we go to the cave, the Ogres will eat us.

Lucienne: We'll protect you from the Ogres, Miminaga. Just guide us to the
cave.

Miminaga: Nnnnn... no way.

Lucienne: Please?

Miminaga: No!

Lucienne: Pretty pleassssssse? You are such a BIG STRONG Mole-Bear.

Narrator: She starts fluttering her eye lashes. She poses shyly and her skirt
slides above her knee.

Miminaga: ...(sigh)...

Narrator: Miminaga blushes. Miminaga's intelligence drops 50 points.
Miminaga's confused and flustered.

Miminaga: OK... All right. But, only to the entrance of the cave. I'll NEVER
go inside.

Miminaga: This is the Ogre's nest. I said I'd take you this far, but not a
step further.

Ago: That's what we agreed on, but are you sure?

Miminaga: Well sure... ah...? What do you mean?

Ago: Remember we battled quite a few monsters on the way? Three of us could
beat them together, but not one alone.

Miminaga: Oh... That's right... What should I do then?

Lucienne: We can wait here until we come back. Then, the three of us can leave
together.

Miminaga: But what if the Ogres come back? .....OK, I think I should go with
you.

Guardian: OH! You are with Miminaga. With Miminaga, you may pass.

Lucienne: Thank you.

Miminaga: I only agreed to lead you here, but I'm not gonna fight...

Lucienne: OK, OK.

Guardian: You may pass. May your cave always be warm!

Lucienne: Humm... I wonder if we can go through here.

Miminaga: With the proper weapon, we can destroy this rock easily.

Lucienne: The weapon to destroy rocks?

Ago: Something to blast the rocks... For example, Blazion?

Miminaga: I've heard the leader of the Ogres is hiding the Blazion somewhere in
this cave.

[When you find Earth Spirit]
Lucienne: Wow! I found the "Spirit of the Ground".

Miminaga: "Spirit of the Ground"?

Lucienne: This is the energy of the earth itself.

Ago: "Spirit of the Ground"? It just looks like a pot...

Lucienne: It's the Solomon's pot, the home of the "Spirit of the Ground". You
can call forth the spirit if you have MP even if you are not a magician. When
it's summoned during battle, it affects the enemy just like magic.

Miminaga: Hey... then, I can use it, too?

Lucienne: Yes... definitely.

Miminaga: Wow... This is the leader of the Ogres... I, I think I'll leave now!

Lucienne: What? We've come all this way!

Miminaga: I'm scared.

Lucienne: But, I'm scared, too. I bet Ago is, too. Right? Ago?

Ago: If I said I wasn't afraid, I would be lying. But, Miminaga, this Ogre
hurt your father. Are you not gonna do anything?

Miminaga: Oh... My father...

Ago: Yeah... Besides, how can you stand being called a coward?

Miminaga: No, I don't like it...

Ago: Now is the time to muster your courage. Don't worry! Three of us can
beat this monster together.

Miminaga: OK! Let's go. We'll kill the Ogre.

[Battle with Ogre Head]

Miminaga: We've defeated the Ogre.

Lucienne: Yes, we did. Attaboy, Miminaga!!

Ago: No one can call you a coward now.

Lucienne: Yes, no one. Instead, you'll be a hero. Miminaga...

Miminaga: Am I a hero?

Lucienne: Let's go home! Everybody will be amazed.

Chief: What?

Lucienne: I'd like to go with Lucienne on her journey.

Chief: WHAT???

Miminaga: I now understand the meaning of courage fighting by Lucienne's side.
And I feel like there is more to learn.

Chief: I give you my blessing. Lucienne, Ago, watch after my son.

Lucienne: Aye, aye sir.

Ago: Are you crazy, Lucienne?

Lucienne: Three friends are better than the two.

Ago: This is not going to be a party.

Lucienne: I know. "Two arrows, you can break, three arrows, you can not."

Ago: Are you sure about this? Do whatever you like...

Lucienne: Thanks. I will take Miminaga with us. OK?

Ago: All right, then.

Miminaga: Thanks for letting me join, Lucienne, and Ago. We must start the
journey to Mirado.

Chief: May the gods of the Mole-Bears be with you. May your cave be always
warm!

guy with hammer: The Ogre leader's dead. We can blast the closing at the
end of Chichibora cave. And then we can travel through to Mirado.

mole-bear in dress: You killed the Ogres. The village shaman has a gift of
magic for you.

guy with hammer: What kin I say? I should thank yew.

mole-bear in dress: Tadaaaa... I'm Miss Fuzzie, beauty queen. You saved us
from the Ogres. Te he he... I've got a hot present for you. This is a K-I-S-S
from me to you. Te he he. I love you all, but let's just keep it platonic.

underground worker: Miminaga, you are a hero! You killed the Ogres.

worker on second floor: Miminaga is truly the son of a warrior. I knew he
could do this.

mole-bear next to previous: This is the village of Babachop. If you take
the different path in the Chichibora cave, you will make it to Mirado.

yellow kid: I'd be proud to be a Mole-Bear like Miminaga.

mole-bear next to previous: Travel north through the Chichibora cave, you'll
find Mirado.

guardian: We are eternally grateful to you. You saved our village. You may

VIII. Mirado

Junin girl (shouting): You're not Junin, who are you?

Junin man (shouting): Are you with the enemy?

Lucienne: Wait a minute... What are you talking about?

Junin woman: You pretend to be innocent... Let's take them to our leader, Aiya!

Junin man: That's a good idea.

[scene switches to indoors]

Aiya: What is all that racket?

Junin man: We've captured strangers.

Ago: Ah, I know you!

Aiya: You... You survived... ...(sigh) Good.

Ago: What's so good about it! You Junin attacked my village! My family and
people in my village have been killed by Junin! And because of you, we are
cursed. Now, release me from this curse! You have my people's blood on your
hands. You will pay. It was your orders for them to attack.

Aiya: I could release you from the curse... But, we are not guilty of killing
your people. Most of the people died from the plague. I was only trying to
save you... I came to your village to save you. By the time I arrived, it was
too late... Most of the people were dead. You are one of the few survivors.
It was all that I could do... to turn you into Junin to save your life.

Ago: You are lying! People were murdered by Junin. The people who saved me
said this was so.

Aiya: You are mistaken.

Lucienne: Aiya, what is this about?

Aiya: Plague erupted in his village. We tried to save them, but to no avail.
Most of them were dying already. Ago was sick and dying, too. So, I turned
him into Junin. The Junins are immune to that plague.

Lucienne: Yes... (nodding)...

Ago: You can say whatever you will. It doesn't make sense... Why would you
save us? It wouldn't benefit your people to save us.

Aiya: ...(tight lip)...

Ago: Has the cat got your tongue?

Aiya: ...You are right. There is no profit saving your people. But, I have...
I have my reasons, Ago.

Ago: What are these reasons?

Aiya: You may not remember, but we have met a few times before, when my body
was that of an animal.

Ago: that of an animal...? ..... Ah! That time!!

Aiya: So you remember now. That's right. I was a wolf in a hunter's trap and
I couldn't escape. When I almost died from the bleeding and the pain, you...
you saved me. You tended my wounds and hunted to feed me. You held me and
kept me warm, until I was healed. When you save a wolf's life, they'll never
forget. I owe you my life because you saved me. Because I am a wolf, I am
bonded with you forever.

Ago: But... if that is true, why are you attacking other villages then? Is
that a rumor?

Aiya: ...It is true for some, but...

Ago: Ah ha! Now you are telling us the truth!!

Lucienne: But, there must be a reason for this?

Aiya: Yes, there is a good one. Black Warrior has our children as hostages.
If we didn't follow their command to attack the village, they would kill our
children. Please believe me, it was not our wish.

Lucienne: Black Warrior?

Aiya: Yes. They appeared out of nowhere and stole our children...

Lucienne: What are you going to do, then?

Aiya: We have no choice but to follow their commands...

Miminaga: They'll make you attack villages over and over.

Lucienne: Hostages.....?!

Ago: ...Lucienne, what's going on in your head?

Lucienne: Ah ha... I've got the answer. If we save the hostages, you can then
stop attacking the villages... Yes?

Aiya: Can you free them?

Lucienne: Yes, we can. Isn't that right, Ago, Miminaga?

Ago: ...(nod)...

Miminaga: I will follow Lucienne. I can't let a young girl go on such a
dangerous mission alone.

Lucienne: That's the spirit, Miminaga. Are you game, Ago?

Ago: ...Yes!

Lucienne: It's done then!!

Aiya: Thank you, especially you, Ago.

Ago: I want to make it clear. I'm not doing this for you; I'm doing this for
Lucienne.

Aiya: ...I understand. But, still, I thank you.

Ago: .....

Miminaga: (moan)... Why are humans so complex?

Lucienne: OK, it's done. Let's go to the Black Warrior's den!

Miminaga: Yhaaa...

Lucienne: ....?.... By the way, where are they being held?

Miminaga: LUCIENNE!!!

Aiya: They are being held in Legyune' tower. From this village, it is west
across the bridge.

Lucienne: I've got it. Well, everybody ready?

Miminaga: Legyune' tower is west of village across the bridge.

Narrator: Don't repeat everything, Miminaga!

Junin man: Keep in mind that this is a special mission for you to perform. If
you fail, we'll chase you until your dying days.

Aiya: The villagers are going to be hostile because they do not trust you.
Some may even cuss at you. So just remember they are only villagers.

Junin man (outside): We still don't trust you.

Junin woman (at gate): If you go north from Legyune' tower, there is a pass
leading to the fields called "The hole of Goat".

Junin man (at gate): Aiya contacted me. You may cross this bridge. We are
hoping you will save our children.

Junin child: You are in Mirado.

Junin woman (outside): Leave town and travel north, and you'll see Legyune'
Tower.

Junin fruit seller: I don't understand why Aiya trusts these strangers?... Why
did Aiya save his life, by turning him into Junin?

Junin child: Please help us!

Lucienne: Oh, it's the children -

Junin child: of the Junin from Mirado! Please let us out!

Lucienne: Alright! We will free you!

Narrator: Lucienne tries desperately to open the cell door, but in vain.

Lucienne: Uhhhh... It won't budge!

Miminaga: Ahahaha... A human girl isn't strong enough... I'll show you
mole-bear muscle!

Narrator: Miminaga also tries but to no avail. But the door did not open.

Miminaga: It won't budge! Let me try one last thing...

Narrator: Miminaga tries with all his strength.

Miminaga: Urrrrgh!...

Narrator: Miminaga uses all of his strength!

Miminaga: Urrrrrrrrrgh! Urrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

Narrator: Again, Miminaga strains with the door!

Miminaga: U-R-R-R-R-R-G-H!

"Braaap!!!"

Lucienne: Uh oh! Po-eey!

Ago: Uh oh!

Junin child: Uh oh! (they chimed)

Narrator: A silence covers the area.

Miminaga: Eh he heh...... he he... sorry.

Junin child: You have to kill the dungeon master to open this door. Big

fairy in west wing: In El Corazona, the Fairy Queen governs all. We fairy
women all serve the Queen.

fairy in east wing: In this world, the Fairy Queen lives in El Corazona Castle,
and the King lives in El Dorado Castle. To go from El Corazona Castle to El
Dorado Castle, it's safest to follow the path.

fairy on second floor: You are in El Corazona Castle. Ittawatana Cave is to

Fairy Queen: Ha ha ho ho. You're a very amusing child.

Narrator: The Fairy Queen starts to think that it's getting out of hand.

Fairy Queen: Well now, what is your reason for coming here?

Miminaga: Again, Lucienne!

Ago: We need the Star Mirror and the Eye of Moon that are here in this world.

Fairy Queen: For what purpose do you need them?

Ago: In our world, an evil magician called Death Shadow is trying to take over.
Death Shadow is using the magic barrier to protect himself. With the Star
Mirror and the Eye of Moon we can break through his protection. And that is
the reason we're here.

Fairy Queen: I see... why you're here. The Star Mirror and the Eye of Moon are
very valuable items here. We can't just give them away. Besides, how do I
know you're not from Death Shadow?

Ago: ...well... You mean you won't let us use the Star Mirror?

Fairy Queen: Well, well, what should I do?

Ago: .....

Lucienne [shouting]: Ah... Mother!?

Fairy Queen [shouting]: What, Mother? Did you say Mother?

Lucienne: I did. BEAUTIFUL Mother.

Narrator: Lucienne tries to flatter the Fairy Queen with compliments.

Fairy Queen: You're such a darling little girl. What is it?

Narrator: The Fairy Queen is swayed by Lucienne's flattery.

Lucienne: Give us a task to prove our worthiness.

Lucienne: That's right. Let us prove ourselves with a task. If we are
successful, will you reconsider loaning us the Mirror?

Fairy Queen: That sounds like an excellent idea. Very well, I'll give you a
task to perform. To the east of this castle there is the Ittawatana who are so
dumb they are against this kingdom. If they can be defeated by you, then I
will let you use the Mirror.

Kaneyung: That'ssss what I'm here for, defeatingsss.

Fairy Queen: Go on, we'll see you later.

attendant: Star Mirror? That is the national treasure! You must ask the Fairy
Queen. If you are lucky, you may be able to see it.

Fairy Queen: Er... you're probably right. What should I do? Boy, do I look
confused?

Lucienne: No, you look sure of yourself and beautiful!

Miminaga: Yes, I think you're beautiful, too.

to the path, you'll be safe. Don't stray!

for us to prove ourselves.

Kaneyung: Yah... Those monsterssss weren't that eassssy to finish.

Be-o-melda: You look like you enjoyed the battle with the monsters!?

Kaneyung: Actually, you are right. That wasss a good battle.

Fairy King: You all sound like you're very honest youngsters. It is well known
that, despite her beauty, the Fairy Queen never gives an easy task for a test.
Imagine how many problems I went through, myself, to get the Queen to marry me.
Ha, ha, ha... but, that's just a personal matter. Well, I'll give you a
mission to perform just like the Fairy Queen. To the north of this castle,
there is an underground maze called Chichikaka. I'd like you to kill the
Lesser Dragon living there. If you succeed, killing the beast that has been
the cause of our troubles in this kingdom, I'll give you the Eye of Moon.

Lucienne: Hooray! You promise?

Fairy King: Yes, I promise.

Kaneyung: Lesssser Dragon... I can't wait to sssee it!

Be-o-melda: It's a terrifying dragon! Prepare both soul and sword for this
fight!

Kaneyung: I know...

Fairy King: Humm... Good spirit! Now, I'll move the El Dorado Castle.

Lucienne: What? What are you gonna...?

Fairy King: Watch what I do now. El Dorado Castle, lift off...!

Be-o-melda: I see what that means... the greatest sorrow in the Fairy Kingdom
will be ended!

Fairy King: To be honest, I thought a few times in the past that I should
destroy those items and just go to see the Queen.

Kaneyung: Next to the beautiful Queen, thissss item issss jusssst trash!

Fairy King: You said exactly what I wanted to say, Kaneyung!

Lucienne: Well, it's time to go back to our dimension.

Ago: We'll go back to Bilkabamba. Don't forget that, with the magic power of
these two items, the Dean of the Institute will teleport us to the other side
of the magic barrier.

Lucienne: Who's that Dean?

Miminaga: My, my! Don't you remember that "yeh" accent?

Ago: That's it, yeh?

last stand. I wish you luck!!

main in northern house: Looks like you've found the way through the magic
barrier. Good luck!

dean: You've got the Star Mirror and the Eye of Moon, yeh. Using my magic,
yeh, I'll transport you to the other side of the magic barrier, yeh? Before

and enter into the town of Cold-Dracke.

old man in inn: The town Cold-Dracke is occupied by monsters.

woman: Did you say you're going to the Feindcycle Castle? If you cross the
desert, you can get there! But, my advice is to forget about it.

old man: To cross the desertk, find the animal they call the Sand Runner.
You can ask the trapper specialized in catching the Sand Runner.

fruit seller: The Feindcycle Castle is the hometown of Death Shadow. I bet
there are many horrible monsters there.

man in house: Who are you guys?

Lucienne: My name is Lucienne.

Ago: We need a Sand Runner to cross the desert.

man in house: Forget it.

Ago: Why is that?

Kaneyung: Yah... sss...! Why is that?

man in house: You guys are not in this business. So, I don't blame you for not
knowing. Listen! The Sand Runner has been over-hunted for the last few years.
Besides, monsters show up often these days around the area where we hunt them.

Lucienne: We desperately need a Sand Runner.

man in house: Desperately? What are you guys up to?

Lucienne: We are on our way to kill Death Shadow.

man in house [shouting]: What? Are you serious?

Lucienne: Yes, we are.

man in house: ...You look serious... I like that! On the west side of this
town, there is a hunting ground for the Sand Runner. You can tame the Sand
Runner only by showing that you are the master. Therefore, you have to battle
with them and show them who is the boss. In Oozoozlin, you might see monsters,
too. You've got to be careful hunting there.

Miminaga: Aren't you going with us?

man in house: I wouldn't mind hunting with you, but I broke my leg when I tried
to capture a Sand Runner. Rats... I can't go hunting for a while.

Miminaga: I see...

Lucienne: Then we'll go to capture the Sand Runner by ourselves.

man in house: Very well. Good luck.

man in house:On the west side of this town, there is a hunting ground for the

trapper: You seem to have tamed the Sand Runner. You shouldn't have any
problem crossing the desert with it. Over the desert, there is a town called
Cold-Dracke. Cold-Dracke is so close to the Feindcycle Castle, it's a kind of
satellite town. There are countless numbers of horrible monsters in that town.

Lucienne: Hooray! We are riding the Sand Runner!

Kaneyung: Can ssshe ssstill run with usss on her back? Aren't we too heavy?

Be-o-melda: Yah. I agree.

Lucienne: Don't worry! Right (nodding to the Sand Runner)?

Narrator: The Sand Runner responded with the sound "Oink! Oink!"

Lucienne: See!? She said no problem!!

Miminaga: Do you understand their language?

Lucienne: Yes, kind of...

Ago: This animal looks like a pig, and sounds like a pig, so it must be a kind
of pig.

Narrator: The Sand Runner suddenly starts shaking its head.

Ago: Hey, hey, what's going on? You must like what I said?

Narrator: Actually, the Sand Runner did not like Ago's comment.

Lucienne: Up, or A button to move ahead. L & R, or Cross button to change
direction. B button, you'll find out later.

Miminaga: Lucienne, are you talking to yourself?

Lucienne: You must know this stuff when you ride the Sand Runner. The Sand
Runner's trapper told me.

Miminaga: Really?

Lucienne: OK, are we ready?

XXXVI. Cold-Dracke

dark knight: Humm... You've broken Death Shadow's hold on this town! You shall
be punished for this!

[Battle with Dark Knight]

man: You shouldn't stay here long. There will be more monsters soon. Please
follow me!

Kaneyung: But, wheresss...?

Miminaga: What shall we do, Lucienne?

Lucienne: Don't worry, let's follow him!

Kaneyung: Hey, wait for me... sss...

[inside an underground structure]

old man: Welcome, strangers. This is the end of the road, Cold-Dracke.

Lucienne: I'm Lucienne. Why are you all staying in a cave?

old man: Our town was totally destroyed by the monsters, and the people were
forced to stay underground.

Lucienne: That's awful!

old man: Certainly, but what else can we do? This town is so close to the
Feindcycle Castle where Death Shadow lives. It it is a very important
strategic site to attack the Feindcycle Castle from. Since Death Shadow knows
it, he occupies this town, and has infested it with his monsters.

Ago: Strategic site...?

old man: Yes.

Ago: That means that it could be our strategic site, too.

Lucienne: Then, let's get all of the monsters out of the town.

Kaneyung: Very wellsss.

Be-o-melda: I agree it'll be a good site for us, too.

old man: You mean... are you serious?

Lucienne: You can count on us!

old man: I will be counting on you!

old man: Please save us from the monsters. You're our only hope!

woman: You are in Cold-Dracke. This town is occupied by monsters. You can't
leave the town now.

man: Death Shadow lives way inside of Feindcycle Castle.

boy: Death Shadow has an evil dragon on his side.

old man near boxes: I wish I could see the sun once again.

man near previous: I can't stand this existence.

Lucienne: What a blizzard!

Miminaga: Lucienne, let's go back...

Ago: Heck, we can't go any further until the snowstorm calms down.

Kaneyung: Oh, cold!!! I hate cold weather... My body temperature goessss down
and I can't even move well.

Be-o-melda: I know why. The lizard is cold-blooded and cools down with the
temperature outside.

Kaneyung: You know, huh...?

Lucienne: OK, then, let's rest here until the snowstorm calms down.

Kaneyung: Thank goodnessss!

Lucienne: At last, on to the Feindcycle Castle.

Ago: Let's go to kill Death Shadow.

Miminaga: It will be the final battle!

Kaneyung: I can't wait for it! Off we goesssss!

Be-o-melda: Yay...

Narrator: At last, they come to the Feindcycle Castle where Death Shadow lives.
Nobody can predict the outcome of this battle...

[back in the underground refuge]

old man: We are grateful.

Lucienne: Ah... Ha...

Ago: By the way, do you know anything about the Feindcycle Castle?

old man: The Feindcycle Castle is north of this town. But, you must be very
careful. Horrible mosnters are all about to protect Death Shadow. Inside is
also a horrible maze that prevents anybody from invading.

Lucienne: Let's try it! We'll be fine.

old man: The blizzard finally stopped because you killed the Frozen Emperor.
Now you can keep heading north. The Feindcycle Castle is north of this town.

woman: I saw somebody going to Feindcycle Castle who resembles the great
sorcerer, Kokindo! I wouldn't lie! I would bet it was Kokindo.

man: Thank you for saving us!

boy: You did it. Thanks.

old man (outside): We appreciate what you've done for us.

man (indoors): Thank you, all of you.

Miminaga: This rock looks strange to me. I wonder if it will move if someone

Lucienne [shouting]: Master, why are you here?

Death Shadow: Ha! Kokindo, you have aged! You don't even understand what you
are in for!

Kokindo: What!

Death Shadow: In the moment you were talking to your apprentice, I cast a spell
on you. Fight this magic if you can! The Death Binding!

Kokindo [shouting]: What, what have you done?

Death Shadow: You are too old to fight a magic battle now! No matter how
powerful your magic is, you can not even move your finger now. You can not
escape from the Death Binding, the best magic I have!

Lucienne [shouting]: Master, are you OK?

Kokindo: You... devil... uhh...

Death Shadow: I'll have vengeance on you and your apprentice, also her friends
for killing my followers. You are in my way to conquer the world! You'll all
die together!

Lucienne: Stop that, Death Shadow! I'll protect my master and the world from
your evil magic!

Miminaga: I'll help you, Lucienne.

Ago: I'll fight for you, too.

Lucienne: Miminaga... and Ago...

Kaneyung: Ssss... I love thissss kind of fight.

Be-o-melda: Indeed, I wanted some exercise.

Lucienne: Kaneyung... Be-o-melda...

Death Shadow: Ha!... Friendship, union, and victory, ha...? Hu, hu, hu... Wha,
ha, ha, ha... That's disgusting! That's the kind of creepy stuff I hate the
most!

Lucienne: As long as we are together, we can make our wish come true!

Death Shadow: In that case, your wish must be to die together! with your...
friendship! Ha!

[Battle with Death Shadow]

Death Shadow: You think you are winning with this small victory!?! I can move
my soul into a dragon and kill you! This shall finish you. Dragon
Metamorphosis!!

[Battle with Black Wing]

Kokindo: Lucienne, did you grow up while I was away?

Lucienne: Master!

Kokindo: Hold it! The castle is sinking now that Death Shadow is dead. We
must get out of here!!

Kokindo: Lucienne, my lovable and honorable apprentice. You've done a great
work. You've conquered the great evil, and peace has returned.

Lucienne: Yes, Master.

from everyone, the victory would not have been possible. Let's now journey to
our home. [he transforms] We'll fly.

Be-o-melda: Farewell, my friends! I shall see you again!

Kaneyung: It was a good adventure. Farewell, friends. [Don't ask me what
happened to his lisp.]

Ago: Thank you, Lucienne. I must part here!

Miminaga: Lucienne, I always will cherish the memory of this journey. I know I
am still a coward, but I learned my personal strength. Good-bye, Lucienne.

Kokindo: Now, tell me the story of your great adventure, Lucienne.

Lucienne: Yes, Master.

Either for the screens, the english 3DO shots would probably be useful I suppose as long as the scenes dont differ too much from the Saturn version

Fabulous stuff indeed.

I might have another good stab at playing this, now that I'll have a vague idea of what's actually going on and where to go next!!
Definitely one for when I have more time on my hands though.

BTW - To be honest, I was just hedging you towards Saturn screen shots for my own nefarious benefit martiniii. ;D
