The MK1 controller feels like a lightweight tacky piece of shit, similar in the fashion to most handheld LCD games that are made in china.

Its funny, cos at the time I preferre the MK1, it was much better built and I prefered the fact that it was larger, but nowadays definately the newer Jap ones. Its just more comfortable in the hand for a long session.

When it comes to interface devices, Ergonomics are more important than style.
For example, the N-Gage looks cool, but its Ergonomic as an actual phone is utter shit.
Where does the better built part come from?
Every MK1 pad I've used has creaked, flexed, and the L and R buttons practically don't move when you press them.

Mark 2 Wireless because they are the shit. I do like the added weight of the batteries as it feels like I'm actually holding onto something.

I think MK1 consoles are the best, and the control pad holds its own on the looks front. It is not very ergonomic though, and the MK2 beasts it for confort and button access. Still, MK1s are good for the racers, and MK2s are good for the fighters. They compliment each other. I put my vote in for 'dont care'. I mean care evenly. Maybe its 60% for MK1 and 40% for MK2, on the looks. as well as 40% for MK1 and 60% for MK2, on the feel.
