i got one but NEVER use it I'm pretty much the same, the lack of Pedals really irritates me. I remember back in the day: I saw one with Pedals in argos and it was listed as "Ps, N64, and Saturn" compatible - then get it home! No Saturn... Faggots. So rather than take it back to the shop I did what was logical and bought a PS1 and N64 so the steering wheel could fulfil it's purpouse ;p Then bought a Saturn wheel and played OutRun, pedaless style

Like northengooner I've also got two & i agree that they're great with sega rally. They also work fairly well with Hang On GP, but... well... who really wants to play Hang on GP? edit: just thought I'd mention that this marks the first time I've posted something using my Wii

I'm heading to the local carboot sale tomorrow (today). I'm going to look out for a steering wheel there.

Does anyone know of any really good third party wheels with pedals?
Sega Rally with no pedals... do not want.

Every third party wheel I have used on the saturn has been awful and has broken fairly quickly after a few days intense sega rallying.

In theory, it would be possible to perhaps mod a Pedal unit from a third party to work with an official wheel. I may give it a shot after Semester 2

I got a free steering wheel with some Saturn I bought off some guy. I tried it out just now... DoDonPachi sucks with it... EDIT: I retract that statement. It's just like flying a real helicopter! Now this is my kinda flight sim! I even made it to the last level before losing all my continues in arcade mode! Oh, and I haven't tried a racing game with it yet. Silly me!

That sounds strangely fun. Now I too need a wheel.

While the idea is fun to the common idiot like myself, the lack of pedals actually kinda kills it. You have to hit the two buttons on the back of the wheel to move forward and backwards. It woulda been awesome if you could put "the pedal to the metal" to boost straight upwards through tight bullet patterns like they do in the movies. Oh well. At least it's better than hooking up a dance pad to the game. ;D I've tried it. Three continues before the first mini boss. Haha! I think I'm going to make a video and post it on YouTube of just me trying random games with the steering wheel that aren't racing games. We'll see if I get the time.

Yes, I think it's worth getting. It's well built, better than most wheels over the years. It is good with Daytona, I found it essential with Sega Touring car. I prefer the pad on Sega Rally, but it's surprisingly good with Manx TT once you get past the strange feeling of usin a wheel to steer a bike.
You can adjust the height and angle of the wheel, but you do need a table to place it on, also look out for broken 'gear flaps', they are the cheapest feeling part of the wheel and pretty essential.
