Does the Netlink work in the UK? - Yes if you still have an analogue phone line. I know you'd need a way to play the American games for it, which is fine, but will it actually work over here by connecting it to a phone line, or a router, or whatever? - Yes, it uses direct dial through your telephone line. Also, is it free? I assume that it would be, so long as you're playing with others in the UK. No, it will cost you the price of the phone call to the other player. And apart from this, is there anything I need to know before I pull the plug on a Netlink? 1. Don't be tempted by the cheapness and pick up the Japanese modem, unless you're after an interesting paperweight. 2. I've had one in the UK for around 8 years and only ever managed to get someone to play over it with me three times, and one of those was a friend that only lived 500 yards from me that I supplied all the hardware to for an afternoon. 3. Don't think you'll be surfing the internet with it, the web browser still functions but 99.9% of websites wont load on it at all, or at least in a way that's remotely usable. - It's a nice thing that quite a few Saturn owners in the UK have but very few are willing to fire up and use.

You can use the netlink modem with a wireless router by connecting the saturn directly to a pc and downloading a program that tricks the saturn into thinking its using a dial up conection. The computer acts as a converter in a sense. The same can be done with a dreamcast. I have linked the website with the info in another post about this. Ive got a couple of netlinks and was hoping others would dovthe same so we can get online.

Be warned though, the community is VERY small (Im in it, but dont own a netlink anymore) When I DID play I played a huge amount, easily 50+ games. I've played people in Kentucky USA, Montreal QC (my home province), New york, Cali, Even Brazil! I played sega rally the most, but I had my fair share of duke matches with the person from brazil. Good times. (I even surfed the web on it )

I posted on that thread actually. Quite excited when they announced this. Its still not perfect yet but the fact that its doable is a big step since most of us in the US have lost our analog phone lines.
