Right guys, I want you all to nominate your worst Saturn game, doesnt matter if you nominate the same as someone else and you can nominate two games each.
The nominations will be added to a poll which will be stickied for 2 months at the end of which we will award the winner the title of worst Sega Saturn game of all time!
(can you tell im bored tonight?)
Anyway, my nomination...
Hang On GP '96 This is not only the worst Saturn game I have ever played, its not just the worst motorcycle game I have ever played, but it is quite possibly the worst game since the invention of baseball. I consider it an insult to my backside, that it was forced to sit here growing carbuncles through five whole minuets of this collosal load of crap. This game is in fact so bad It made me want to disinfect my Saturn after removing the disc from it. Hang On on my Master System puts both this game's graphics and gameplay to shame.
List your nominations below! ;D

Planet Joker The Saturn is a shooter fan's dream system. However this turd is not only the worst shooter on the Saturn, its one of the worst shooters in history. Awful collision detection, totally stupid weapons, lots of loading, graphics that look worse then most 3D 32X games. This game manages to do EVERYTHING wrong.

pretty much any EA game i'd say or whizz or hulk. though I never played any of them.
I wouldn't say it the worst one I played but, I didn't like Virtual On. Played it one day and never again.

Whoo, I gotta defend some stuff here. I gotta give baseball some love. It's not the most exciting sport, but the strategy element is better than most of the other sports out there. And Virtual On is friggin awesome. I concede that it's not for everyone, but playing that game with twinsticks is simply awesome. This is a game with a really deep & intricate fighting system, and unlike many popular button-mashing fighting games out there these days, it's a game where a novice has zero chance at winning against an expert. The series has a serious cult-following (especially for the sequel VOOT).

Doh, I read the first post wrong. I didin't realise it was a nomination thread. So i don't wish to nominate Virtual On.
I will, however, nominate Destruction Derby. Just a bad game overall, I only had fun with it when I cheated and became indestructable.

I'd have to go with Johnny Bazookatone, I was given it as a gift, thankfully with a sales receipt!

I decided today my second nomination has to be Virtua Racing, it was allot of fun on the arcade and when it came out on the MegaDrive/Genesis on the cartridge with the special chip in it, I was impressed that I could play games of that style on my old Mega Drive (even if the cartridge was stupidly expensive) and it helped demonstrate that the console could live up to 3D SNES titles such as Stunt Race FX. I also remember playing the 32X version and being disappointed that it still did not live up to experience of the arcade machine, it was graphically more akin to the arcade version but was very slow and jerky, also on both cartridge versions they had somehow managed to totally screw up the handling and it always felt like you were driving on ice.
So obviously when this came out on the Saturn it was one of those games I couldn't wait to get, finally a faithful port of one of my favorite arcade racers... WRONG!! Aside from the resolution being better, the Saturn version of Virtua Racing seems just as jerky, instead of the nice fluid handling of the arcade version we get the horrible unrealistic skating that had been seen on the Mega Drive. The Saturn Version also manages to introduce graphical glitches and big holes in the scenery that were not present in any other version. If that were not enough on some of the rendered scenery the draw distance seems worse than on the 32X version!!

ALONE IN THE DARK 2: JACK IS BACK
I cant be bothered to explain why, if you have played it you'll know why. its bloody awful and very unplayable, how some of these shit games get out of playtesting is beyond me.
gotta agree with VR saturn version is a big let down the 32x version blows it away IMO. gotta disagree with Destruction derby, i have always loved that game. oh and virtual on rules!

Well since you're awarding the worst game to the winner, let me be the first to nominate Taromaru. ;D
Just kidding. I'm going with Planet Joker. I got it in on Saturday and it is easily as horrible as most say it is.

ALONE IN THE DARK 2: JACK IS BACK I cant defend the console versions of this as they were all very bad indeed, but on the PC this game was fantastic in it's day.

As far as playability goes, then The Crow: City of Angels takes the biscuit. I think it would be easier to shit on my chest than make the character walk in a straight line. Utter bollocks. I thought Resident Evil was crap too (though i realise I may be in a minority... )

Doom..this sucked and Thunderstrike 2 It's a personal one this.......when I bought my first saturn (pal).....I asked in the shop if they had any shooters......they gave me thunderstrike 2, it was the opposite of what I'd call a shooter, more of a sim.....when I went back ( to chip shop liverpool) they wouldn't give me a refund or swap......I offered it to them for free , but they wouldn't have it back, so I threw it over the counter and said something along the lines of "this game is utter sh*te" they knew I was right.
