Well the closest arcade to me is now Southsea, and I haven't been there for over a year now. But luckily I have 2 cabs at home. In the Naomi I have Zero Gunner 2 at the moment, which is an awesome shooter from Psikyo that was also on the Dreamcast, and in the Cyberlead I have Street Fighter Alpha. I know Alpha 2 is better but I have a stronger sense of nostalgia playing number one as I played it to death in the arcades as a kid (and on the Saturn).

My last few trips to the arcade have resulted in me playing pinball machines rather than arcade machines. I've played pinball games in the PS3 but the real thing is loads different. Harder too.

Found Indy 500 at an arcade in Seattle. Never seen it in an arcade before so thought I'd have to give it ago. Even though I picked the only cabinet that didn't have any sound I enjoyed at. Just came outside the top ten after hitting the sides at pretty much every corner. Would have thought the game would have been an ideal candidate for a Saturn conversion, shame it didn't make it.

It's a great game. I had the opportunity to play it a couple of years ago at the PLAY EXPO at Manchester. They had a 2P link, sit down set-up there. A friend of mine is involved in the Arcade Cabinet aspect of that show and he owns a lot of classic cabs himself. I played it with him. He was (jokingly) p*ssed off because his mate had recently bought 'this' Indy500 cab set up for £250(!) and he'd missed out on it! Hahahaha! We played it a lot. T'was awesome and, yes, it totally should have received some quality conversion love from AM2, AM3 etc. None of that dodgy SEGA Touring Car or Manx TT 'business'...

I hated that game because my uncle wouldn't get off his computer and let me play Virtua Cop. I feel I probably should have had a go at the game!

Some Daytona USA 2 yesterday. Came 7th and only just noticed how gloriously cheesy the soundtrack is.

Played Sega's new Transformers game the other day. It's alright, nowt special; just an onrails shooter with infinite ammo and no need to reload. I died at the first boss and didn't feel I needed to continue.

Last real arcade I played in was the Palace Arcade in Rhyl a few years back... There's a new arcade in Newcastle-under-Lyme's Lymelight Boulevard, off the top of my head it has OutRun 2, Mario Kart, Time Crisis 4 along with others. TenPin at Stoke's Festival Park is still great too.

Bump! I have been on holiday to Skegness recently, the arcades were actually pretty good. Played on the new Daytona- nothing too great but lovely to hear Let's Go Away blaring out of speakers in arcades again. Tried the new Walking Dead game as well- fairly good, if a little hard to control due to the crossbow controllers. I also like the new Jurassic Park shooter- fun and has hydraulics! Or at least the one I played on did. There was even one of the newer King Of Fighters games (not sure which) in a Taito Viewlix cab- very surprised to see one of those! Anyway I was terrible at it cause I suck at fighting games in general, but KOF is especially hard. I can only manage 3 bouts before a game over on my Saturn copy of KOF 95! I also almost clocked Namco's Deadstorm Pirates with 3 or so credits but just barely lost at the end. And then there was this: I've seen this before but never realised how big and crazy it is until now. The hydraulics, rumbling seats, and steering wheel force feedback are really effective- makes it even more of a challenge to play. And don't get me started on the 2 player co-op feature... Seen some older stuff as well. I saw the original Sega Rally a few times (w/ broken gear shifters and damage, mind), House Of The Dead 2 + 3, Star Wars Arcade Trilogy, Manx TT, Ghost Squad, Time Crisis 2 + 3, Ferrari F355 Challenge, Sega Touring Car, and Ridge Racer. A standout was a deluxe 4 player Daytona USA in Fantasy Island

I usually go to skegness once or twice a year for a day trip I must say that they do have a couple of decent arcades will definitely have to go to fantasy island for Daytona these cabinets are usually battered with bits that don't work properly were they in good working order

I've been told that since last month the new Daytona is elsewhere in the arcade. Oh and just a pointer- the original isn't in the main arcade area, it's at the indoor plaza. The pyramid had a bit of a revamp this year as did the arcade which meant some machines had to be moved to other areas in the pyramid.

Hate to necro an old thread, but other than Arcade Club in Manchester are there other 'cades in the UK?
We recently got Konbo in Edinburgh, it's an acrade coffee shop,, the owner has 6 candy cabs and switches games out most days, think he has around 40 or so games in total.
Between my Saturn playing, work, d&D and basketball I don't get to go nearly enough unfortunately.

Bridgwater has Timewarp Arcade, they don't have as much as Arcade Club but they have some nice little games you don't see often, including Namco's Prop Cycle.
Croydon's got the amazing Heart Of Gaming arcade with 6 VS City cabs originally from the Trocadero, House Of The Dead 1 2 3 & 4,deluxe Naomi sitdowns, 4 player Daytona, and a bunch of other games I've forgotten.
Other than them I can't think of any others
