What the title says. I need this for research.
It turns out that many of the same VCD carts had different ROMs inside, and I'm building a list of them.
What I've seen so far are - two different versions in the Japanese HSS-0119 Sega cart (at least) - three different versions in the Japanese RG-VC2 JVC cart - two different versions in the Japanese Hitachi 2-dot cart (revision 4 and 5, with revision 3 seen on the 1-dot card...)
I've only seen one RG-VC20 and one PAL cart opened (plus another RG-VC20 checksummed to the same value as mine), and also two Hitachi 1-dot cards. But no RG-VC1, RG-VC3, or Hitachi no-dot cards.
The cards are only held together by 2 screws and are very easy to take apart and put back together (JVC cards also have a small solder blob in the corner, but you can still slide the cart out easily). I would be very thankful if members of this forum could share pics of their own carts (with the IC markers readable!), that way I'd knew if there are any extra versions still unaccounted for.
I'll be releasing my info, as well as the ROM dumps soon. I have 5 different dumps so far, with a few more cards still incoming.

All my stuff is packed up at the moment while I search for a house, but I think the Saturn I have out has a PAL card in it I'll take a look...

I have an official Japanese Sega card. I can open it up for you and take pictures some time this week. I don't have any equipment to dump ROMs though, so I can't help you with that.
