thats a shame . Wonder why Lobotomy made these differences in the regions e.g. No Death tank or analogue support in PAL. Quake also has odd differences with no music during the intro and no rain cheat

Quake also has odd differences with no music during the intro and no rain cheat We talked about it in a thread a good while back so I can't recall why it was missing. But yes Id highly recommend getting Powerslave instead of the PAL exhumed for many reasons. I hear the PAL version has issues with sound sync as well. Getting all of the dolls is quite an exciting challenge but even better knowing there was a sweet game of its own in Death Tank waiting. I didn't know about the Quake differences. Remember Duke Nukem 3D US version has quite a few differences as well most notably the entire Netlink/Multiplayer mode. All I can think of is that Lobotomy were a US based company and the games were worked on a bit longer over here before release. And perhaps versions needed to be sent to Sega of Europe a little sooner before complete polishing.

from my experience of playing Exhumed at 60hz, the only sync issues Ive seen is during the talks Ramesses gives you , otherwise its all good.
lack of 3D pad support kind of hurts it though , would have been nice if it had mouse support too.

I just did a super fast search of PAL and NTSC U differences on the Lobotomy games I was amazed to hear that not only was Death Tank left out but 3D Pad support as well. I love playing Powerslave with the analog. As I do all of the Lobotomy engined titles. I also saw the issues with Quake cheats. Some guy broke it down in an article and found that it was indeed an earlier build of the game. Other than the Netlink features Im not sure about Duke 3D. I kind of read that some powerups were missing from the PAL version that were added to the US version later but Id have to play through both. That is also not a really big issue other than lack of polish. I really do wonder if Lobotomy had to send early build to SOE so they could optimize them in time for release. Thus leaving Lobotomy some extra time to tweak the eventual NTSC-U releases. Im sure this happened quite a bit in the Saturn days. Id almost be interested in hearing from Ezra if thats something he remembers happening.

Wow. Suppose SOE got lazy and were too confident of keeping their slice of the market here in Europe. Didn't have as much competition as they did in america. Funny that audio sync was mention as I posted in a previous thread about the flipped stereo sounds in Exhumed, it makes hunting for the transmitter parts really annoying. Again, is that an issue they fixed in Powerslave?

I believe so. Ive played through PS many times and don't remember any issues with anything. Some sound related issues could also simply be related to the optimization.
To be fair you have to remember Europe had to do PAL 50hz optimizing which sucked. If we all had the same format, you'd have saved so much time. As opposed to here in North America, we shared the same format as Japan thus a bit more seamless.

Anyone remember where the Ankhs are? I've found four, but can't find the other two.
Online says they're in Karnak Sanctuary behind a green gate that doesn't exist, and the other says the left tunnel after the key in the sunken city (which has nothing). I assume the guide is for the PSN version and they're in different places.
