..i recently purchased DonPachi and Striker 1945 II and i am quite disappointed, cause of the massive slowdowns these games suffers from. Each game i think, even in 1P mode are really near unplayable just because the "flow" is completely f***** up!
..so my questions, is this because these games are really bad ports, or have i to deal with / get used to it? what about the arcade originals?
..thanks!

Bad porting I'm afraid. I wouldn't call them unplayable, but certainly, I can understand why you're underwhelmed vs the slowdown in each title. If it's of any use, BOTH of these titles are superior on the PS1...

None of the slow-down is game breaking.
In DoDonPachi it's almost like it's there to give you a breather and in Strikers 1945 II, it just isn't that bad.

Yea the port of DonPachi is awful. However changing the screen scaling to 100% seems to actually affect the framerate!! TATE the screen, remove any sort of scaling and it'll run a little faster.
The only redeeming factor of DonPachi is the Saturn exclusive Ultra difficulty. DAT BULLET COUNT <3333

Of course the loading times can be brutal. As far as Strikers II, it's only the Graf Zeppelin stage that I notice slowdown. The rest of the game runs fine as I recall.

Mmm, yeah, donpachi, slowdown is well apparent, always preferred DDP. as for strikers, Neo is the best port I have played, and very good it is too.
