I usually use parts from a spare machine for fault finding, obviously not everyone has that option.
Failing to boot to the CD menu usually indicates the system not seeing the laser assembly, could be a bad ribbon cable, faulty power board not supplying the mechanism correctly...

I have an second saturn unit 32 pin model 2. That machine boots without the cd Rom connected, maybe My 64 pin saturn doesnt supose to do that aswell? My 32pin have another type of power supply with only 4 pins
