Hi all First post here and its not exactly how i wanted to start my first post. So i just got my first sega saturn console today (model 1 japanese console #HST-3200) and being the dumbo that i am i immediately plugged the sucker in, started it up and BOOM (should note i am living in australia), powersupply was blown and after some research (should of done before hand) i would need a step down transformer or replace the powerboard with a EUR one. Now i am just wondering how viable it is to change the PSU to that of a UK one or any EUR one i can find. If it is viable, where would be the best place to get one if possible? on a side note, i am super happy to own my first saturn and to join a community of like minded people

Thanks for the quick response, i will have to search around for that one. Atm i have opened this sucker up and replaced the fuse which was blown (completely black) and managed to get a step down transformer (input AC100/120v, output AC220/240v) tried it out and bam, fuse blew again so looks like i will just have to find a new PSU and wait it out . Thanks again.

You need to change the varistor as well as the fuse (if the power supply has one).

For now I managed to get a same model saturn thats broken (powers on but laser supposedly doesn't work). So I'll switch out the PSU and see how that goes.
