Can anyone give a recommendation for a good SCART pass through? I want to have the sound from my Saturn output by some speakers I have, not the crap coming out from the back of the TV! Obviously I don't want to lose any picture integrity either. What I found fairly cheaply was this: Link 1 or this: Link 2, which is cheaper, but described as 'premium'...
Any thoughts???

Both should work fine, or just get a SCART cable with 2xRCA breakout built into it.

Powered Scart switcher boxes will boost the picture and sound signal so no loss in quality, they also come with separate audio out as standard where the sound of all devices plugged into it will come out of 2 RCA's.
Anything without a booster that requires you to double the length of the original lead just to get audio out will create a darker picture, it might even force you to increase the TV's brightness to compensate for the loss...

Those adapters are Scart female to male so don't add length to the cable (well, only a couple inches).

Why post what people can already see? Thought you might of had something to say about scart switchers just in case some one has more than one retro console. The topic does ask for recommendations but then again offering advice on doubling the length of a lead is always helpful... No matter what you say even if it's right there is every chance people will do something completely different..., like making do with something crap such as a cheap arse scart splitter with audio out on that so happens to increase the overall length of the video lead. Just makes people think before they do.

I have a rather lovely powered SCART switch. It takes 5 inputs and has optional audio and composite output. The make is Thor but I have no idea how easy these are to get now - but here is a pic of a more recent model that has less inputs but does support HDMI too. The picture quality out of this is great - lovely and crisp. Comes with its own remote too.
