Good evening,
I have a Saturn that will boot to the Sega Saturn screen if the lid is open. When closed, it partially boots and then gets stuck during the boot sequence. Only way to resolve is to turn it off and on again.
Is there a good guide to troubleshooting the Saturn that someone can point me in the direction of please?
Thanks, Chris

I think there may be threads on similar issues here already. Otherwise, someone will be sure to help you with it (I cannot as I don't know too much about the technical workings of the Saturn). I'm sure one of our more tech savvy members will be likely to get back to you though!
Just a quick question, after you turn it on and off, does it work perfectly after that?

Check for one of the simplest explanations first - dust bunnies under the motherboard.Or if you don't fancy disassembling the beast either blow through the vents with an can of compressed air or carefully hoover out your vents.
(Speaking from personal experience here)

Thanks, Chris I had the same exact issue with one of the last SEGA Saturn that a friend gave to me (I repair and customize consoles). I cleaned the PSU contacts, bend a little bit and it worked! In my case, every time that I tried to open the lid or the console was trying to recognize the CD, image was frozen. Sorry for my english : ) Search for "dreamcast resets fix", it is the same operation.
