I got this mysterious blue card from a friend years ago looks like a Memory Card and not a RAM It didn't work and my consoles didn't detect it on the Memory Manager section I know it's unofficial 3rd party card since there's no Sega or trademark indication on it I know there's official and unofficial 1M and 4M Memory cards, but 8M is nowhere to be found on the Internet ! Anyone knows about it ?

Oh yes ! that is it, you found in on CGR, I love that show and Mark's comments ! Now I have to find out why it's not working, I have to open it and do some cleaning I left it unused for a long time since I moved twice. So it's an EMS product just like the awesome Action Replay Plus 4M Auto RAM Thanks a lot man

I have a feeling the cart is likely fine. But the Saturn's cart slot is fairly finicky. If you have moved carts in and out with any degree of frequency the pins inside the slot can get pretty loose. There are alot of stories where people can only get carts to work if they cram a credit card in behind the cart. I would just keep trying the cart at many different angles. And seeing as its unofficial it might not appear on the Saturn's official memory manager. It may have its own system kind of like the AR. I would try that cart in a few different orientations and once you get it working never take it out

Many of those "increased capacity" cards just gain extra space via compression, without actually having more space. So if the cards firmware goes corrupt, most likely so will the entire card. Some of them are also able to lock out the region.
I don't know if that card does any of the above though. Could you open it up and post some pictures of the board? Preferably with any text on the chips readable.

In marketing speak of the era, "MEG" usually meant megabits, so the capacity would be 1 megabyte. The back of the box claims 32 times the 32K built-in memory, which also equals one megabyte.

So today I tried the Memory Card on one of my PAL Saturns, latest one, and It worked from the 2nd try !! I knew it was working because there was no CD in the unit and it prompted the Sega license screen I took some photos of it: So it reads Memory Card Plus by Datel Design and Interact Multimedia Products (1995), so basically a 3rd party product Apparently it has 2 windows: one for the System memory (this Saturn was empty) and one for the Cartridge memory It contains some saves as it belonged to an old friend, I'm surprised and quit happy it held data all this years It reads 8190 blocks (compared to Saturn's 510 blocks) It has 2 Banks: by pushing X I access Bank 1 and Y opens Bank 2 I don't know why it has 2 Banks, each bank contains some saves I tried to copy one save (TOMBRAIDER_?) to my System memory and it did successfully and fast, loaded from the game and it works But I don't know how to save directly to it from a game, maybe the use is to save to the System memory and to move it to the Cartridge memory I know that some games (specially later ones 1998) manages the system memory and the cartridge memory from in-the-game (forgot their names).

With alot of the unofficial carts you can't save directly to the carts (at least in my experience). Thats why they have the memory manager function. So if you need space for a new game you transfer all your current saves to the cart. Then delete them from the Saturns internal memory. Then when you want those saves back you transfer them back to the internal memory.
