I suspect that I'm in the minority as far as getting use out of the Saturn mouse, but I'm going to give this topic a shot. What games do you most enjoy playing with the Saturn mouse?
So far I've gotten the most out of using it with the two Girls in Motion games. It took me a little bit to get as fast with the mouse as I am with the controller, but the gameplay is really well suited to the mouse. Moving pieces from place to place just feels so much smoother and more natural with the mouse than playing it with the standard controller. It also helps that everything in the game is calibrated to the mouse: the menus, the stage select, etc.
Heir of Zendor is really up there for me, too. The menus and general layout of the game all have a very PC gaming style, so when you have the mouse plugged in its like playing a PC game on your television. Once I realized that I could play the game with the mouse, the standard controller setup seemed so clunky by comparison.

Let's make a list, I contribute with the easiest ones (not even 100 % sure they are compatible with the mouse, but would be shocked if this was not the case): Warcraft II and Command & Conquer.

The unwritten rule: if a game would benefit from the mouse, then it does not support the mouse. So... You can use it with Virtua Fighter 2 then?: Left Click: Defense Middle Click: Punch Rick Click: Kick Good to know.

We've already built up a partial list in this thread.

I didnt get a Saturn mouse until just a few years ago. I really wish I had it back in the day. I used to play MYST alot on the Saturn when it was released. Its the only version Ive really put heavy time into. Would have been nice to go at it with a mouse.
If I ever work up the funds/interest Ill probably get around to grabbing some of those point and click PAL (no-US) releases. I assume most work with mouse.

Odd request, but... Any chance you could generate a thread Martiniii and keep the first post updated with your findings about all the mouse compatible games for the Saturn (plus regional compatibility)? This gave me the idea vs a thread with loads of scattered info: segasaturngroup.proboards.com/post/49564/thread

Just out of interest how many Saturn mouse games are there? About 80. That many. I was thinking maybe 20 at the most. That's incredible. Are there really advantages with the Saturn mouse? I'm thinking the Saturn's analouge controller would achieve the same effect.

This gave me the idea vs a thread with loads of scattered info: segasaturngroup.proboards.com/post/49564/threadYeah, I'll give that a shot when I find a moment. That many. I was thinking maybe 20 at the most. That's incredible. Are there really advantages with the Saturn mouse? I'm thinking the Saturn's analouge controller would achieve the same effect. It's advantageous for the same reason mice have been standard on personal computers for the past couple decades: It's much faster and more intuitive to point-and-click than it is to hold down a directional until the cursor reaches the spot on the screen or menu that you want. There are a couple big strikes against the mouse library, though. One is that most of the mouse-supported games are Japan-exclusive. Makes sense, since in North America the mouse was only sold as part of the Netlink bundle, and in PAL regions it wasn't released at all, whereas in Japan it was available both as a standalone purchase and bundled with one of the system's best-selling games, Sakura Wars. Of course, localizations of Japanese games retain mouse support, but most Japanese Saturn games weren't localized. The good news is that some PAL-only games inexplicably have mouse support. The other is strike is that a lot of the mouse-supported games aren't suited for the mouse. For example, Panzer Dragoon II and Doom both support the Saturn mouse, but there are no shoulder buttons, so you can't perform the key functions assigned to those buttons. There are also games like Virtua Cop 2, where the mouse is well-suited to the game, but another controller (in this case, the light gun) is obviously even better. If I had to guess, I'd estimate that the mouse is the best controller for only about 50 of the ~80 mouse-supported games.

This is good to know when I review Heir of Zendor, martiniii. I will try to remind myself when I review the game.

How does Virtua Cop 1/2 feel with the mouse? For Light gun games I feel like the mouse would be the next best thing to the gun without a CRT TV.

I bought some weeks ago a saturn mouse on ebay (still not arrived) because it is a got alternative to the light gun. I played House of the Dead on the PC with mouse an it is quite good. i think you can aim with mouse more accurate. but as though by chance i found a crt on a electric garbage and i took it home. GOOD NEWS - crt works fine. first thing i've done - played virtua cop with the yirtua gun. what a fun

Crazy to think back in 96 I played Virtua Cop and Area 51 with the control pad. Doable for sure but both play so damn good with the Stunner.

You are my hero! I tried it but it was really awkward. You can't aim fast enough to hit the bad guys
