Re: Silver for the Dreamcast, I found it to be, like the majority of the Dreamcast's RPG library, enjoyable but wholly unexceptional. And indeed, that seems to be the general consensus. Even Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine rated it as forgettable. Basically, it's your standard hack 'n' slash. You blindly wade into a bunch of enemies, mash the attack button until they're all dead, and then move onto the next batch. Perfectly fine if, like me, you enjoy that sort of thing, but there are plenty of better options on other consoles.

segafan1986 welcome to SSUK. Wow that's a great collection of consoles. Good to know they are all getting played. I'm sure more get played than others. If you could pick your top 3 consoles out of that lot, which would they be? Lemme see, usually this a very hard question for me as I really love them all, but I guess in terms of most play time...my top three would be: 1) SNES 2) Sega Dreamcast 3) Playstation Now I know this may come as heresy that the Saturn isn't in my top 3, but keep in mind I didn't buy the Saturn until I was into my adult life. Now I do have quite a few favorites for the system (Croc, Virtua Fighters Kids, and Daytona USA) and I pine to have a working Saturn again. But the truth of the matter these systems I had more time with and thusly have a lot of nostalgic memories.

I played in on the PC and there you had to move the mouse in certain ways in order to do different attacks. And you also had to do different attacks since they differed by a fair amount in damage. It was not any button mashing on the PC anyway. One thing that was pretty shit about the game though, is that it was hard to control your companions. You have to set them to attack certain targets, which was too much of a hassle since the game isn't turn based which means that it stressed you out. So I basically just let them follow me around to soak damage and I only controlled one character.

So I basically just let them follow me around to soak damage and I only controlled one character. I was wording for simplicity's sake. Yes, there are different attacks, but when you're going up against a mob of foes it's difficult to pick and choose targets and attacks, and there isn't any need to do so since most of the game is very easy. Of course there are parts where you need some strategy and/or fancy footwork (the final boss is great for that), but for the most part it is hack and slash. The control is indeed different, though, since there is no mouse support on the Dreamcast version. Okay, I don't have a Dreamcast mouse so I can't confirm it myself, but it's not listed on the back of the box nor mentioned in the manual, and a quick text search of a walkthrough for the game yields no results. I've heard people complain about controlling the secondary characters before, but honestly I never had any problem with making them useful. I actually found it one of the more fun aspects of Silver. Sheesh, now I want to pop the game in for a second playthrough...

Hey there all, it's been awhile. Alot has changed in the 2 or so years since I originally posted this. As you can tell by the quote with numerous strike throughs, that I no longer have this many. Adulting sucks, long story short was really short of cash and water was being shut off and everything you see here plus 95% of all the games I owned were sold. I never realized just how hard it would be to start over, but it does suck. But to answer a question from two years ago Sych, if I had to choose my three favorite consoles out of the list, I would have to go : Super Nintendo, Nintendo Gamecube, and Sega Dreamcast. I know the Saturn doesn't show up on that list, but I didn't get into the Saturn until much later after it met it's ill fate. The SNES mostly due to nostalgic memories of playing it all night with my dad when I had first gotten it. The Gamecube because that was the first system I had bought myself, and Dreamcast because it blew my $%^&ing mind when it came out. Anyways all, sorry I have been gone for so long. But I am back, so I guess this is a re-introduction. Both, I have quite a few systems such as : Atari 2600
Nintendo Entertainment System
Super Nintendo
Nintendo 64 Nintendo Gamecube Nintendo Wii
Sega Genesis
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast Xbox
Xbox 360 Playstation Playstation 2 Playstation 3 Game Boy Game Boy Advance Game Boy Advance SP Sega Game Gear Nintendo DS Nintendo 3DS XL Game.com
and a minimum of 15 games per system, with my Genesis having the most at a total of 59 games. Mind you I am not loaded or anything, I have just literally been collecting all of these systems ever since I could walk. And believe or not every system gets played regularly, unless they're in a state of disrepair such as my Saturn or Dreamcast are right now. Now that I put that into perspective all I can say is damn, I didn't even realize I had that much

Hey man nice to have you have back.
Ive seen money needs effect a lot of collectors over the years. It is what it is. You go with what is most important in life at the time. And yes restarting is very difficult in todays market climate.

I am experinced in this I had 50 systems untill 2008 those days everything was so cheap up untill that point you could tho. Even got great deals a whole usa vboy set for 150 back in 1999 A deal thst would never come again. Had 2 neogeos 1 modded with bios 2.2 blue led light up 5 arcade Vilgente, dkjr, 1 slot mvs gold cab, popeye and raiden machines. Sold it all off and missed most of it untill I got my snes back my pc engine and such. Then realized I no longer was intrested in these games so I sold them off again. I only keep Saturn these days because arcade games don't grow old or fighting games there about the only things retaining my interest anymore.
