Has anyone tried this 50/60hz switch before?

Has anyone tried this simple 50/60hz switch mod, this look 95% easier than the leg 79 style mod.
it's as simple as this:

No lifting of legs just two solder points, two wires and a switch.

I've only ever seen it on the site above and this French site:

I figured I had the same version of Saturn as this (oval buttons) until I opened it up, turns out I have a VA09(?) board and that set of jumpers isn't at the same location. I thought better of destroying my Saturn until I have a spare to fall back on.

Apparently it works though.

Those switches only work in VA0 PAL and VA SD PAL units. So either very early model 1s, very late model 1s, and very early model 2s.
It is definitely useful though.

Interesting, I've only ever known of the other method so yes, this could be useful for those with such models you mentioned.
