So I bought a sega saturn and connected it to my tv via the RF cable. It turns on fine but the TV will not recognize the Saturn no matter what station I turn the TV to. I am unsure if the RF unit is the original. It says that it is a Fire RF Unit. I tried using a different RF cable but it still wouldn't recognize it. Any help?

Use a real video cable, not that junk.

You need to head along to eBay and grab yourself a SCART Lead, preferably, an RGB one. That should sort it out.

Make sure your Saturn is turned on as you're tuning your tv. Good luck!

Is your Saturn running at 50 or 60Hz? For RF it neets to run at 50Hz (PAL).

Heheh old school, select any regular channel on your TV and manually tune it to ch36. At least you'll be able to use it until your scart lead turns up!

Or cut the RF unit off it's self right at the base and with the remaining wire make a Composhite Video lead out of it, (requires 2 spare phono jacks to connect the newly exposed wires too)... Yellow & Ground for Video. White and Ground for Mono sound. Composite Video is better than RF and will be slightly easier on the eyes until you get an RGB Scart Lead. And of course no tuning required as it will be on one of your AV channels. There is no value in RF units for Saturn, or a Meagdrive for that fact in any way or form so making a composite video lead out of it even if it's for a day or 2 is the best use that RF lead could ever hope to achieve.

@ vickersvimy How new is your TV? I've noticed that analogue tuners are being dropped from a lot of sets now, if it only has a digital tuner then RF is a non-starter. If you're in the UK grab an RGB SCART lead, one of these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391131822943If you're in the US your best option without spending a lot of cash is S-Video: www.ebay.com/itm/251762950773
