So, I think I might have gotten a unique error on SSF. It has been going on for the past year and I have no idea how to fix it. I have tried just about everything. Whenever I try to configure my controller pad, I can not. Just does this: Just in case the image gets removed, here it is again: ResumeThread() error. File : ./MainWindows.cpp Line : 2837 Function: _ControllerDialogProc And then it just shows a blank input box with no way to exit it other than pressing ALT+F4, as to which I simply go back to the other screen; doomed to repeat the cycle with no means to resolve it. Given I found nothing online of it, I am definitely the first.

In a nutshell:
What OS are you using? Has it worked before? Have you tried another build?

Windows 8.1 Yes, for about two months. Have you tried another build? Once, but I do not know if they have any newer builds.

If it worked fine for two months then it's either:
- A system update or new hardware that's caused the issue - A change to the emulator config
If you just download and setup the emulator in a different folder without changing anything and it works, then you know it's the emu config. If you setup a clean build of the emulator and the problem persists, then it's your Windows install.
If you can rule out the one option it will make fixing it a lot easier.

I'm still using 010 beta R1 on my windows 8.1 laptop as it seems to be the most consistently stable on my particular system.

Well, assuming it said "MainWindows" in my error message, I would assume it is related to Windows. Combine that with nobody else receiving this kind of error before and that would make sense. Even so, how would I begin to fix something like that? And, I already tried downloading it again and putting all my Bios and ISO files in the new one, but it still gave the same error.
Either way, this is pretty ludicrous for it to require this much effort to map my inputs.

As caseh and I suggested, try a different build.

The name is just a reference point for whoever coded it.
It's trial and error if the issue isn't known:
Try: Different builds Different OS/devices Compatability mode
If all else fails, shutdown into recovery mode and use the following command: format c: /q

I've found that SSF has been more and more buggy with the newer versions, so it's not worth using anymore. The last test version even has screenshots broken.

So, what gives then? I have spent nearly all of my free time, about over a hundred hours so far, performing various tests to get this emulator to work. I thought it would be a simple process, but IT STILL DOES NOT READ CONTROLLER INPUTS OF ANY KIND. What happened?! I can NOT be the only one to have this problem!
I did not even alter it in any significant way! It's not fair. I spent months looking for a good Saturn emulator and the only one that runs the games flawlessly can not even be played on. It's like being offered the best tasting dish in the world, but no taste buds to even enjoy the damn thing. It is just pathetic and it makes absolutely no sense.

I take it you've tried different builds from that link then? How it's taken you months to find Saturn emulators is a little beyond me, taking into account there are like two functional emulators that are referenced on every gaming forum in the entire world (probably).
To be honest you should be grateful someone has even done a Saturn emulator, when I actually gave a toss about emulation years ago it was the only system that hadn't been emulated from that gen of systems. Even the Dreamcast had a fully functional emulator years before the Saturn.

I'm not sure what you're doing notshane, or what controller you're trying to use, but it takes about 15 seconds to configure a controller in SSF.
It's actually one of the easiest to set up emulators I've ever used, especially now that you can run it without a bios image.
