Only problem with most roms is graphic/sound glitches and errors. I always find it more satisfying playing the real game and for the collecting aspect.

I can't get Satourne to run a game for the life of me...is there a tutorial for dummies out there?

I just wanted to say, I had another go on the Sega Master System emulator for the Saturn, and despite my previous complaints, was able to put up with some of the glitches and enjoy Sonic 2.....but was pretty chuffed to find only music glitches with Phantasy Star. Well...some of the characters covered up their first line of text in the text boxes, but beyond that, playing for the first 5mins I didn't discover any other graphical glitches, and it was amazing walking through the 3D FPS section at the start... =O....
So yeah, Phantasy Star emulated rather well on the Saturn, =).
-_-...although you'll probably all tell me there's a Phantasy Star collection for Saturn or something now, =S. [Which I've just realised there is, although sounds like it was Japan-only, so I presume not in English]

I may release another version with a small use of 2nd cpu and a newer compiler. I can also put the original sound core (slower) as it sounds better.

Perhaps you could be a little more specific if you want some help with that, also maybe start another thread before this one gets derailed

You were the one who converted it for use with Saturn? =D. Hat's off to you! Yeah, the music is a real shame...it's all fine, but keeps stuttering. I'm mainly running PAL /European ROMS - I don't know if that effects anything? Also - Fantastic Dizzy doesn't work at all, =(. But then I'm hoping to buy that one for real in the near future anyway. Similarly, Mortal Kombat II wouldn't boot either. As mentioned, Phantasy Star was almost perfect though, =D. And Sonic 2 was glitchy, but enjoyable! I'd welcome any improvements in the emulator, =). It does have an audience, ^_^. Even if it's just me, XD. I haven't tried the other emulators yet - the Atari Lynx one et al, but may do, as I explore more of what can be done on Saturn, =).

Am not sure what the Test download is (unless you're able to tell me?)... but will explore it soon.

Regarding the test / fps ... Toast 9 Titanium continually says the bin file can't be found and that the cue file is an unsupported format, whenever I try to use the cue file to burn a disc. I've looked at the syntax of the cue, and it all seems to be in order, =P, so I'm confused...

My cue file is good, did you try to mount it with daemon tools?

It burnt fine on a PC using Alcohol120% but it won't work on OSX using Toast 9, =/. The bin will mount alone, but the cue file isn't accepted.
Anyway, have given it a quick whirl. ^_^ Never played that game before, let alone a patched version. Won't spoil the surprise by saying what it is, ;-), suffice to say it runs really smooth on the Saturn. =). I believe I set my Saturn switch to 50hz, as the top of the screen was cut off on 60hz. I was worried it wouldn't boot at first, as it hung on the first screen for ages, before finally recognising the control pad.
I also got stuck opening doors, ^_^, until I realised it's the B button, not A, to get through 'em, ;-).
Anyway - runs nicely, =). And I don't have to worry about controlling my perspective, as I do in Quake / Duke Nukem 3D. =P Only downer is I'm a n00b, and dying lots, ^_^. Shame the shoulders just change weapon - it would have been nice to have the ability to sidestep [strafe is it called?]. I tried the the top row, but Y and Z seemed to just mirror B and C - open door, and shoot, respectively. Ho-hum.
But yeah, =), it plays fine - I just suck at it atm, XD. I dare say I'll give it a whirl again shortly and get better over time, etc.
Ta.
