NHL Breakaway 1998 is a fun title too. Much different than the EA titles, and plays a little wonky until you get used 2 it, but it can be a blast and has a fun atmosphere. Has some over the top organ playing and graphics (the puck has a coloured stream). NHL Faceoff games on the Playstation 1 are some of the easiest and most fun NHL games I've played (For context I own NHL 91-99, 06, 08-12, and about 15 other none EA NHL games) Gosh that's a lot of hockey games!! He is Canadian so you should expect nothing less. Although I live in Buffalo New york which is basically Canada. But ya over here they made tons of hockey games over the years. Now adays we just get the 1, EA series, but its so damn good there is no room for 2K or anyone else anymore IMO. Speaking of NHL Breakaway 98, it was supposed to be released on Saturn. All of the ads in the magazines showed the Saturn logo. They even printed a backer card for retail stores (which I own oddly) to sell it.

I've got NHL All-Star Hockey ('95) and I think it's quite good. That's the one with this cover I liked it straight away when I started it up and the commentators were welcoming me to the game. I took a virtual tour of the hall of fame and had a few games. I managed to score a couple of goals but I was finding it difficult to steer the players and steal the puck back.

I've just had a look at their Facebook page, seems like a retro-gamers wet dream in there! Is it as good as I hope it is?! Just saw this old post. Do you mean Vintage Gamer in Birmingham? If so, yes it's great. The best I've found out of the half a dozen I've tried in Midlands and Manchester. They have fair prices - he basically tends to takes an average Ebay selling price and knocks off the 15% fees. They have a rapid stock turnover because of all the Facebook activity and the pricing, and there's always loads of crates of new stuff whenever you go in. I think he has a network of suppliers, storage hunter types- so he sometimes has rare stuff, rather than relying just on trade ins like a lot of retro shops, where you just get the common title mainly. They also have some free to use Arcade machines including Sega Rally and one which has 100s including many 90s Capcom and Neo Geo games. I never have much time to play, but would love to spend longer. Anyway, highly recommended.
